This a good study on where we came from and in which direction we are going. We are hard wired but can and do make choices. For instance thieves are hunter gatherers but can overcome that instinct. Homosexuality may be nothing more than the urge to procreate running amuck.
It is time to shut down all of the polluters. Industry has polluted for far too many years. Farming activities in the Mahoning River watershed pollute with pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, manure and soil erosion. Plowed fields pollute the river with silt when it rains and during snow melt. Drilling on farmland only compounds the problems. With the power of the OEPA our area is seeing the dawning of a new era and we will all have healthier lives in our future. Our elected have a duty to support the enforcement of the laws.
At some point in the future the private ownership of land will be but a distant memory. The land has been decimated by deforestation for many purposes. It must be restored. Strides in birth control will lessen the need to sustain a growing out of control population. We will become a much healthier nation with pollution from fossil fuels being stopped. The new stewards of the land will be more in tune with nature.
Natural gas, in its original state, contains radon and benzene, chemicals "known to the State of California to cause cancer." It also contains toluene, a chemical "known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm." Radon does not burn but is released with the combustion by-products. Radon and natural gas combustion by-products can generally be removed through appliance vents and other exhaust systems.
The people have spoken and the drilling will be stopped. The vision of people like Susie Beiersdorfer have made it happen. Now is the time to pass legislation that puts the real cost of gasoline at the pump. The next governor of Ohio should be a man of vision like Bob Hagan. If only he could be persuaded to run.
Opening the earth up below a depth of two feet should only be allowed with a special permit and an environmental impact study. We need to stop the madness that exposes us to unknown minerals, metals and radioactivity.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE! We need to put a $1.00 per gallon environmental tax on motor fuels right now. These price raises are going to the oil companies and we need to get our share by taxation.

Do you support a temporary or permanent statewide moratorium on injection wells?
