If you adopt a kitten from us and there is an issue your 2 week health guarantee covers all treatment at no charge. We do our best to make sure that all of our animals are healthy prior to adoption but the health guarantee is there in case something is missed or the cat is incubating a problem but is asymptomatic at time of adoption.I am very sorry that your experience of adopting an otherwise beautiful kitten was destroyed by ear mites. We pride ourselves in taking excellent care of our animals, and veterinary costs make up the majority of our expenses. We want our kittens to be accepted and loved in their forever homes. Since your kitten did not live up to your standards please feel free to call the shelter to arrange the return of the kitten for a full refund of your adoption fee.I look forward to hearing from you.

Another cat caught in a leg trap was brought in to West Side Cats last month. The cat was found in Canfield, near the high school.Sadly the cat, named Karma, passed away as the veterinarian was amputating the leg. There is an ongoing investigation into this incident involving local police and the dept. of Nat'l resources, since leg hold traps are illegal in Canfield, and presumably in Youngstown.Animals caught in traps suffer horribly - hopefully whoever set Karma's trap and this one in Youngstown will be caught and prosecuted for doing this.

Why is the victim being dragged through the mud? Her familial troubles are not news, and plastered all over the front page like this her short life becomes nothing but fodder for salacious gossip. Hasn't this kid suffered enough? If I wanted to see this kind of crap I'd subscribe to some rag like Weekly World News or the Enquirer. The Vindy is supposed to be an actual newspaper, how about writing like one?

Why doesn't Second Chance simply relocate? They have everything in place to keep doing what they're doing, and their volunteers sound very dedicated.

Just. Stop. This article is about Linda and what her family is doing to remember her. West Side Cats happened to be her favorite charity and since this gift drive is in her honor it is benefitting her favorite charity.I am honored that our charity was chosen, but I would have supported the drive if she had chosen the Heart Association, Hospice of the Valley, or a home for indigent penguins. This article is about honoring a person who has DIED.I get that you people hate me. I get that you want me drawn and quartered. I get that you want all the cats in WSC killed and the rescue shut down. Everybody else gets it, too.Can you, for once, in the name of common decency, wait until the next story in the Vindy to post this kind of venom? You are being disrespectful to Linda Klacik and to her family.
