Firstly, the letter that I wrote was greatly edited. It lost the purpose for which it was written. The letter I wrote expressed my concern for the treatment of the County Engineer as well as how the paper promotes Youngstown's negative behavior.
Just remember, if we continue to turn our collective back on the people who made bad decisions, we open our backs up to those same people. I would rather accept them back into the community and give them an opportunity to redeem themselves. Or we end up creating a situation where they go back to the same bad decision making. Sure, they commit another crime and go back to jail. However, what some people tend to overlook is that, for every new crime, there is a new victim. I for one don't want to perpetuate a condition where I increase my chances of being one of those victims.
