Typical NEO, always looking to the goverment for their answers.

Daily flights from Youngstown to Cleveland taxi toward 2012 reality

"Why would anyone drive to the Y-town airport, (20 minutes minimum) Park, go through security, board the plane, taxi the runway, and then fly 10 minutes to Cleveland? "

Ding ding ding! We have a waste of money!

GM Lordstown plans to hire new ‘flex-time’ workers

"As Honda and Toyota sales fly past Cruze it becomes more obvious that obama's bailout was a farce."

Yes and they are the most American made cars too. http://www.cars.com/go/advice/Story.j...

The Chevy Cruze is nothing more than a foreign car assembled in America. GM needs to collapse so that we can stop subsidizing these foreign auto parts makers.

YSU's educators OK pact with university

They negotiated a worse contract than they voted to strike over. That takes talent.

YSU professors suggest work 'slow down'

@Tigerlily:

"lying to the public via the Vindicator about how much the cuts in salary actually are for the faculty based on their final offer? "

Their salary would only be reduced by the less than SB5 would mandate health care costs and the lack of raises. That falls within the administration's estimates.

Their pay beyond salary, ie summer pay, would be reduced by 20%. That is not a part of salary as it is not a fixed payment, but rather extra pay.

What we need to investigate is how much of the state's resources are spent on sending non-union sanctioned emails as using a state resource for personal gain is criminal.

Youngstown State University: Deficit increases by $4.5M

@Owlguin

"...That of course will result in YSU being left with Faculty who wouldn't be hired elsewhere..."

Who are these faculty members? Every student should be advised to avoid taking their classes. If you will not name names, then you provide nothing more than a talking point.

YSU talks will go on

@Sherry Linkon

"She acknowledged that health-care costs fluctuate but said the university routinely budgets for those costs, making educated guesses based on previous years."

This is what is called irony. Progress Ohio, a group that supports the repeal of Senate Bill 5, also supports Obamacare. Obamacare is the reason that future health care costs can not be estimated based upon previous years as it completely changes the model.

So the group supporting their right to negotiate, is keeping them from negotiating. Awesome.

Lordstown’s Chevrolet Cruze turns 1

@TylerDurden

"2. Rewriting of the bankruptcy laws behind closed doors, so GM could avoid paying income tax on any profits for the foreseeable future. This one should actually be #1 because everybody else has to play by the rules as written."

Exactly. We need to stop the special tax breaks for wealthy corporations, starting with GM. Then onto the union's exemption from Obamacare.

Still talking at YSU, but no contract

@YSUisYtown

"All of the 'issues' you describe simply come with the territory"

Correct. As the argument is over the legitimacy of a collective bargaining unit for public employees, it is true that there will be some that perform less than others.

The issue becomes when someone who wants to contribute more, such as yourself, will not be credited based upon their merit. Those who do not contribute will receive the same raises as you for the same position.

That is the problem. We want more of you and less of them. As a taxpayer and YSU alumni, we want them gone.

We Are Ohio opens Struthers office Tuesday

@SAVEOURCOUNTRY:

"Public workers have ALWAYS paid into their retirement. It is written and has been written into the Ohio revised code. Currently it is 10%."

That is only a half truth. Their is an employee's share to be paid into retirement, SB 5 banned employers paying the employee's share also.

Please know the law before you speak.
