So explain how your "hit and run" on the west side is an accurate story when coverage on WKBN, video included, shows the vehicle sitting there at the scene with a broken windshield and information about the woman driver?
And representatives from WKBN and WYTV were there too, but we won't practice fair journalism here will we? Being that the paper owns WFMJ. Just one glaring example of the biased work this paper regularly passes off as good reporting.
This article has incomplete reporting. You need to also address the people milking the 99 weeks of unemployment. I have a friend who has turned down offers because he can make nearly the same amount sitting on his rear end for another 30 weeks. This practice is very widespread, the extended unemployment is a disincentive to return to the workforce, and the longer a person is out of the work habit, the harder it is to reenter. This picture you paint is one-sided.
I am not seeing this as quite the victory it may appear to the university. This in fact may be the faculty playing the best hand they have. As it stands, they are working under the terms of the old contract, which only has the 1.5% health co-pay. There is NO incentive for them to move to a concessionary contract. I think they will drag this out, negotiating just enough to keep them working under the old deal. Let's see how long it takes the administration to realize the union is stalling them.
I'm looking forward to these folks showing up at my house in their door-to-door canvass. I'll just refer them to my 48 year old RETIRED neighbor a couple of doors up, sauntering around with his hands in his pockets, nothing to do. How do they expect me to support a system where I am paying for his retirement and gold-plated health care for longer than I will be alive?
