Bert wrote, "So, don't buy all that prattle from his minions about this being a launching pad to national greatness....and 'Sooner rather than later the novelty (as least for those who aren't living in the Valley) will wear off. "
None of his minions tried to sell me any prattle. The news media did. Apparently the novelty will never wear off, especially with the media living in the valley.
'Curb cuts benefit the people Tug,'
Ap: When they connect to sidewalks, yes. Get out and look at them when the snow melts. They are ridiculous. As of now, the 'improvements' to 224 have done nothing to make the area more walkable nor do they meet the State's own criteria. You are still forced to get in your car to go from business to business.
'Politicians often run for higher office Tug,..'
In their case, it was more like running away from lower office.
'Yet with all of Boardman's fiscal problems, Tug will still be complaining about curb cuts..'
OIC, Apollo, that kind of government waste is apparently OK with you.
90% of the Vindicator's articles or blogs the past four years pertaining to Miller and Gallitto were derogatory. Check your archives. So why then would you expect the electorate to keep them? And let's not forget - they both sought Boccieri's seat.
"Who is more to be pitied, a writer bound and gagged by policemen or one living in perfect freedom who has nothing more to say?"
-Kurt Vonnegut, "Bluebeard" (p.168)
Louie: Almost done w/Botkin's "Ride the Thunder." The politicos need to read it. They apparently didn't learn much from Vietnam.
Is this supposed to be journalism or are you committed to endlessly campaigning for Traficant?
224 project was a waste of 6 million dollars. ADA curb-cuts that don't connect to sidewalks. Traffic was just as bad.
PS - Throwing your 'Neighbors' paper on our front yards is tantamount to littering. Please stop!! This paper is duplicative of The Review, Boardman News and Town Crier.
Dear Mr. Sweetwood:
Businesses and celebrities survive at the whims of the customers and fans. As an example, the second we stop flocking to the theater to see Tom Cruise, there's no more Tom Cruise. The same applies to politicians.
Also, I am sorry to report that my copy of 'Neighbors' was shredded by the snow thrower for the person who delivered it tossed it at the end of my driveway, like a spent cigarette, and it was covered with snow.
