Cost to improve academics at Youngstown schools could be nearly $4M a year

No amount of money would make me take a position with a Youngstown school, especially at the high school level. More times than not, the material can't be taught becuase of the many disruptions from the unruly students.

The only way the schools will improve, is when the parents and students start giving a damn. Until that happens, nothing will change.

New autoworkers no longer tops in manufacturing pay

These GM workers make me sick. Did they think they were going to make upwards of 100k per year for doing a job a kid out of high school could do? They should be thankful they made that type of money for such a long period of time. Now you have individuals like this one in the article complaining that $16 per hour isn't enough? With overtime you could still make $40k a year, which is still a good living in the y-town area.

If you're so unhappy with the pay, just quit, as I'm sure there will be plenty of folks that will take your position.

Jon Heacock resigns as YSU football coach

Heacock was clueless, never understood how he lasted 9 years. Never knew a thing about offense.

It's quite sad how far this program has fallen. 15 years ago we were beating Boise State. Now they're competing for bcs bowls, while we can't even win our own conference in 1-aa.

Just get a qualified guy in here. Could careless if he has Ysu ties. I read someone wants Carl Pelini?? What has he ever done as a head coach.? Guy couldn't even make much of a difference at Fitch.

Just my 2 cents.
