Democrats and Republicans across the state don’t like or support Kasich since he doesn’t seek any of their advice or counsel when making policy. Both sides have no idea what’s going on.
The only allies Kasich has are in Washington, DC not Ohio. Kasich, along with his fellow Republican governors from Florida, Wisconsin and Indiana get their marching orders from Karl Rove. Whatever Rove says, they will all do, including Kasich.
To blame the unions for Strickland’s loss is ridiculous. Had all the registered Democrats gone out and voted, Ted Strickland will still be our governor. It was up to him to get out his own people and he didn’t.
Let’s not forget Mr. 80%, David Betras who was supposed to deliver all of these new voters and didn’t. He actually delivered fewer votes for Ted than Lisa Antonini did four years ago.
When Kasich loses his reelection bid three years from now it will be a relief for Democrats, Republicans and most of all, the people of Ohio.

Yes, the Chairman of the Democratic Party should have a seat on the Board of Elections. The real problem is that David Betras should not be the chairman.
Just as the Oakhill charges were dropped due to the feds not wanting to give up what they have, there is a behind the scenes investigation going on with Betras.
Unless you are Bertram de Souza, all it takes is 5 minutes of investigating and you can find plenty of dirt on Betras. It’s not hard to find some of this stuff out since blowhard Dave flaunts his digressions. I'm sure Husted did more than 5 minutes of investigating and is happy to take this shot at someone who is trying to be something he is not, a politician.
There are many “real” democrats in Mahoning County that can sit on the Board and do a good job for the community, it’s time for the Betras era to come to an end.

Finally! It takes a Republican to out this fraud since no one around here will do it. This self-centered egomaniac now gets a taste of how he treats people. And his plan to run for office just hit the Marc Dann roadblock.
How long before people figure out that if you are “not competent” to be on the Board of Elections you probably aren’t competent to be their lawyer???
There will be no run Mr. Betras, your firm is teetering and you have proven that you have no power as chairman. Walk away before you lose everything.
In my 60 years of voting I have only voted for a Republican one time. When the Chairman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party makes me want to vote Republican, it’s time for change, and Jon Husted has my vote for life.

The unions are going to be out in force voting on Issue 2. While they are in the voting booth they will take the time to vote on Issue 3. We also have a state full of retirees of both parties that vote and want healthcare.
As anyone can see by the number of petitions that were signed, the unions are motivated and will vote in numbers Strickland wishes he would have seen last year. There are nearly a 1,000,000 more registered Democrats in Ohio than republicans.
Republicans don’t like Kasich and their own leadership in Washington (try reading some polling data Bert). If the republicans say they are for Issue 3 watch their own people vote against it.
So your analysis is completely off – again, but you did have to write a column for this week. What a waste of ink.

Where is over $1,500,000 of cash going from just ticket sales?
Who appoints these board members?
In a county that votes democratic all the time, why did the board invite representatives from Portman's and Mandel's office to speak and none of the democratic office holders from the county?
It's time for an investigation of the operation of the fair, where the money is going and a change to the leadership of the fair.
This is the county fair, not the Canfield republican fair.

Do you ever have an original thought? What are the reasons besides needing to fill space you wrote this? It's very clear that you know nothing about politics, let alone presidential politics, to be making any comments or writing editorials for a newspaper.
Let’s conduct a test. Can Bertram de Souza get hired by any big city newspaper? Would Bertram take on government employees if he worked at the Washington Post? I believe they would laugh him out of the newsroom.
Why should we care?
Someone that has a platform (the Vindy) and that can shape public opinion, can move our community either forward or back. Mr. de Souza has taken use nowhere, and this blog is an example of a non-story story that we all ready have heard on TV for the past three days - why write about it here?
I'll help you Bert, here is a story people in Youngstown would like to hear about, why doesn't our new mayor want to use email for official business? Many people seem to think he doesn't want a paper trail. Why is that?
Now that's a story to fill this space with, not retreaded news from, CNN, MSNBC and FOX. Of course this story would require you to do more than watch TV and might even ruffle some feathers, but it’s a real story. And there are so many more, but I’m sure we will continue to read about government employees benefits, YSU staff, the Cafaros, Marc Dann and David Betras.
You have been lucky Bert, hiding out here in Youngstown where nobody cares to challenge your incompetence and utter lack of experience in politics or government.
Do the community a favor, prove me wrong. Let’s see if a big city newspaper will hire you. If they do, I'm wrong, but I've done you and the Valley a favor by getting you out of here.
We won't hold our breath.

Trustees are lost lambs and can't manage their way out of a paper bag.
We need new leadership - again.

Anyone who deals with Betras knows he is the worlds biggest liar. Humphries needs to watch his back since Betras can't help himself and he will start talking again.
I congratulate Humphries for not using all of the personal and professional dirt he has on Betras and making it public.

What is the symbol of the Democratic Party? It is a jack___ right? How fitting that Betras is Jack___ of the Year.
It is to bad the award can't go to all of the democrats who gave the Jack__ their hard earned money. I 'd bet they wouldn't have had they known that he was going to turn around and give it to Redfern and the Ohio Democratic Party just to get another award.
What a waste when there are so many more deserving democrats.
