While I agree that we all must decide for ourselves what values we embrace, hopefully keeping in mind the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, I believe you've veered off the point here.
Evil exists in the world. We should seek to live in a way that is not evil no matter what political party we belong to. The Bible shows Christians the Way. No mortal can change that truth.
It's interesting that Father Coyne chooses an analogy of Hitler and the persecution of millions. We all know the world would be now if everyone chose pacifism over resistance to evil.
