I do not know any of these young men, but my heart broke when I read about what happened. Yes, they are definitely heroes.
In early March, my 20-year-old son who is in the Navy was on his way back to the States after 4 months in Qatar, and he was in a horrible accident on his way home. By the grace of God, he is okay. He also told me that something could happen to him anywhere at anytime, not just in the military. Unfortunately, those words came true for him, too. I pray that God will carry you all through this and please know that you are in my prayers. Their family and friends should be extremely proud of their choice to enlist in the military.
