Details about Obama’s visit Tuesday morning at Fitch

NoBS, the price of gas goes up based on two things: Fear and Speculation as to how much we need/have left/will use. The Fear & Speculation occurs all the time, Weather disasters, terror threats, foreign wars... even holiday/vacation seasons.

If Obama is suggesting that we dispense some of the excess profits from Oil companies than a Democratic Congress could right (and pass with Obama) legislation that prohibits them from unjustly raising prices to counter the $1K checks.

We need to get off oil. I know you are very skeptical of this ever happening but I'm going to fill you all in on a little secret happening here in Ytown:

A student at YSU has developed a Hydrogen Fuel Kit. He put it in his '89 pickup truck and gets 86 miles to the gallon. His name is Corey Myers (hope I spelled that right) and he got a grant earlier this year from the government to continue developing it. This is something we could all use! Screw the Saudis, forget wars for oil, drill in our country and use these kits till we ween off the stuff all together.

We should all be supporting this guy! Maybe if we're lucky enough, he'll even keep his future company of developing these hydrogen fuel kits here in Ytown, meaning better jobs for the people here...

Support NEW ideas for once.

Valley residents give Obama warm welcome

OK, let me first state that I'm a young guy in the Mahoning Valley. I come from a long line of mill workers but throughout my lifetime, that part of our economy has been dead.

There will always be some manufacturing jobs around here but when will we finally realize that the manufacturing sector is the wrong path for Youngstown's future. That kind of thinking is the past... It's old... Kind of reminds me of John McCain. The same old same old...

You can vote for whomever you want, but at least Obama mentioned bringing something here. Something new, not promising the rebirth of manufacturing. Will it happen, who knows but what did McCain propose for the unemployed in this town? (And please know that when I say "unemployed" I actually mean people without salary/benefits. Part-time at the car-wash doesn't count.)

We've all helped kill our own manufacturing jobs. With China and India paying their citizens slave labor wages to produce goods & everyone here in the U.S. buying all their products from Walmart, we've killed the prospect of most new manufacturing jobs.

The Mahoning Valley should step up and be a place for new industry not sit around and wish for more manufacturing jobs. Downtown Ytown is starting to become nationally known for software & technology production. Let's not stop there, let's add tax incentives for other industries like Film production or new energy (solar/wind) production... Anything new that will bring better jobs.

That whole little rant is actually the reason I support Obama, he represents a move in a new direction.

Besides, 70's is too old to lead a nation. With respect to Senior Citizens, the health concerns of anyone that age are always an issue. Isn't it more important who his VP is?

Sure the man has been around and done a lot in his life but you wouldn't hire a 72 year old person to lead a company, it wouldn't be a sound decision.
