‘Welcome home Jimbo’ countdown

Great comment epicfail and so true!
Lifes2short: The fact that Youngstown was mentioned at all should point out something, especially considering the size...I think Youngstown was the least populous (by far) city mentioned. Most were large cities and/or state capitols. The person's comments, "Buffalo, new york is pretty bad. The whole of new jersey and rhode island are mafia run. Chicago is a pit. Youngstown Ohio is exclusively mafia owned. All those boss hog Louisiana cities are total jokes"
The USA Today (no I didn't read the 870 comments, nor will I) article is RE: convictions. Which, surprisingly, don't necessarily go along with corruption. It is also about states, not cities or communities. I'll admit here I started to read it, figured that much out quickly and didn't bother to waste more of my time on it.
I am not saying Youngstown is necessarily a laughing stock, or that the entire nation/ world's eyes are watching, but Youngstown & it's situations are not only known in the immediate area as DeathBeforeDishonor stated.
I think many people feel sorry for you. If people there continue to act as though Traficant is a hero or something (and holy cow possibly once again ignore his misdoings and try or succeed in electing him for something) then you may very well earn the distinction of laughing stock.

‘Welcome home Jimbo’ countdown

I see a reality show on the horizon!

DeathBeforeDishonor: Reality check for you, since you apparently are holed up in Youngstown and don't realize it. He made national news, I'm sure that surprises you somehow. He & your area most definitely were/ are looked at in disbelief, and laughed at. I've never lived in Youngstown or the area, I think it's sad your predicament, but if this is how people there are, then it's not surprising at all! I am aware that he (like many other politicians of any party) funneled $ into your area through earmarks & truly illegal ways...I'm betting we have no idea what all he actually did!
