As I sit here and read these comments I am just sick... Many of you seem to have a problem with the fact the some people actually have a little thing called "FAITH". To the person who speaks of mind warping and brain washing, I feel bad for the people that are subjected to your warped way of thinking. If our country would get back to the basic fundamentals that it was founded on, may be then it would not be so "screwed up".
You are not giving money to a religious group, nor is that where your tax dollars are being spent. The money used for these scholarships is the same money that is used in the public school system. I would think twice about the "brain washing" when it comes to tearing down all of the public schools, and to the amount of money wasted when building these new schools that may look absolutely beautiful, but in fact are failing our children. Frankly the "brain washing" comes from the school board that makes the decision, to not give us a real choice of where we send our child to school. The truth is that most of these families would leave this area and move out to Boardman, Austintown,or even Canfield to save their children from attending one of the pulic schools in Youngstown. As unfortunate and sad as this may be, it is the truth. I have lived here all of my life and to myself and my family this is home, and I truely believe that a child can learn anywhere. There are many inteligent, and sucessful people that attended our public schools, but today I would not want to take chance of not only risking the education of my child, but the safty. Like I said before, it is sad but it's also very true.
What a joke!!! Take a look at the records of these criminals, probation!!! Some of these people were already on probation during the times they commited these crimes. Some of these people have spent their entire adult life on probation! It's nice to know that this is What our tax dollars pay for!!! This is a complete shame!!! PROBATION!!! And I bet they will get to keep their jobs at G.M., or collect unemployment.
