Home Depot’s policy on theft puzzles Boardman police

Folks, we're all missing the big point. These stores don't lose money on theft - they simply increase prices to cover "shrinkage". So, you and I are paying more so that druggies can fund their habits. Isn't America great now that the lawyers have taken over?

Hagan wants Rush off air

Apparently the increasingly inane Mr. Hagan has now decided that the First Amenndment was only a "suggestion". Free speech and opinions are apparently reserved for him and him alone. I can't believe that this valley continues to elect this buffoon. What an embarassment!

Trumbull doctors: Malpractice costs threatening health care

According to Atty. Crisan himself, 992 out of every 1,000 malpractice suits filed are frivoulous, without merit, and don't yield a verdict for the patient/complainant. It is obvious where the problem is. Attorneys file frivolous lawsuits hoping the insurance companies will settle because that is cheaper than defending against the bogus charges. I believe it is time to once again outlaw advertising by lawyers and law firms. Further, I think that the party failing to obtain a judgement should be required to pay all costs for the courts and the defendants. (Now be honest with yourselves, aren't you a little tired of seeing and hearing a certain Youngstown attorney/politician everytime you turn on the TV or radio.)

Trumbull voters face 5-year transit levy

IS THIS LEGAL? The Senior Levy was passed for services only to senior citizens. Now the Commissioners are going to steal the money to finance a public transportation system. That might be OK if the system transported only senior citizens but this is called a public tranportation system so I assume anyone could ride. If public officials can pass a levy for one reason and then steal the money for another purpose, why would anyone ever vote for any levy in the future? How do we know that this new levy won't be used for some other purpose that we don't want and the Commissioners are saying it's for transportation just to get it passed? I for one just don't trust them.

Trumbull voters to face transit levy

@UnionForever - get your facts straight. The NITTS system is privatized. It is run by a union-busting, private, for-profit company called Community Busing. Community Busing's charge to Trumbull County to operate the NITTS system approachs twice the average costs of government operated systems in Ohio (or even other privately operated systems).

Area ranked next to worst

One of the major problems in this area is the "one party system". The politicians don't need to do what's right for their constituency. All they need to do as have a "D" behind their name. Therefore, the politicians do only what is good for the poiticians. They lie during campaigns. Once they're in office, they ignore what they promised and do only what is good for them personaly or for their cronies who support them financially. Ultimately this gives the citizenry a feeling of utter hopelessness. No wonder we think this a lousy place to live.

Ohioans could force recall elections

This will once again make Ohio the laughingstock of the rust belt. Hagan is an embarrassment every time he starts on one of his diatribes. He wants to make the State of Ohio just like the City of Newton Falls where they have a recall election everytime someone doesn't like another someone. The only bill that makes sense is one that allows the recall of Hagan only.

Trumbull engineer retracts stand

If DeChristofaro did misuse the power of his public office for illegal personal gain, whether monetary or not, he should be removed from office. His resignation should be compulsory, not voluntary. His actions were criminal. His intent was despicable. He will end up costing Trumbull County far more than he claims to save through reducued personnel costs.
