Micky - Your continued hurtful comments and unfounded accusations show you to be a person full of anger and intent on inflicting pain on others at any price. You don't know me and you have no right to say the things you did. If you really consider Mother Teresa and Archbishop Tutu to be saints, then you should follow their example of compassion, love and forgiveness. Good luck and goodbye.
Since you clearly think that I am stupid or naive, I thought you might appreciate the words of two highly regarded people certainly more wise than either of us.
You present yourself as a person of high morals, so you will surely agree with the compassionate words of Mother Teresa:
"We cannot condemn, judge or speak words that might hurt... By what right, then, can we condemn anyone?"
The next time you call someone names or say hurtful things, think about the following quote from Bishop Desmond Tutu:
"If I diminish you, I diminish myself."
What do your comments say about yourself? Some things for everyone to think about before we say words that hurt others. Those words do just as much harm to those who speak them.
Micky - I am not God, nor are you. He is the only one who will judge all of us. That is all that I am saying. I am not telling you what you can or can not say. You have made your opinions known REPEATEDLY. If marriages were ruined and children were hurt, that is a terrible thing, but there is another party involved there who needs to share the blame. This needs to end. Don't worry, God will judge us all in the end.
Micky - I don't think anyone needs to hear more about this from anyone, including you. I hope for your sake that when your day comes, you are not judged as harshly as you judge others. You should focus your efforts on trying to spread some good in this world instead of hate.
To rocker68: Who told you that his staff "knew what was going on"? The last time I talked to them (very recently), they continue to support Dr. Davis and the fact that this situation is sad and unfair, especially to his patients who continue to come to him for the great care he has given them for years. You have no idea what the "guilty" plea means, so you need to re-read the article above. He did NOT admit to anything, so please do not read into it. You have no right to judge when you do not know the facts.
I wish I could have replied to your comments to me sooner, but I was out of town accepting a great job with a 10% pay increase instead of sitting on-line like a lot of you posters with nothing better to do. Now that I am back, I was hoping you had all calmed down and moved on to other things. Obviously, I was wrong.
As far as your comment that I am "portraying" the doctor as "a victim" or "innocent", I am doing neither one. I am simply saying that you and many others are reading far more into this situation than you should and trying to pass it off as fact. You all need to RE-read the definition of "pleading guilty" in the Vindy article above:
"Dr. Davis, of Brittany Oaks Trail, appeared in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to a bill of information, meaning he waived his right to have a grand jury decide whether he should face criminal charges."
He did NOT admit to doing anything, so stop playing judge and jury in this little virtual world of yours and quit the comments. Enough already.
By the way, it is easy for many of you to make any comments you want and hope people believe it is all true. However, I would venture to say that the accusers and many of you have questionable character and morals yourself if you all knew about this "horrible" doctor and allowed it to go on or just took the money and ran. It is a fact that desperate people will often say anything, even ruin innocent peoples' lives just to get what they want (money, attention or a lighter sentence of their own, perhaps?) Ever consider that may be the case here???
If you are all so concerned about "ruined lives," think of his family and let this go.
Everyone needs to stop throwing insults at this man. None of you know the whole story here. For as many people who are quick to judge and post horrible comments about him, there are many more who don't post but agree that, while he is not perfect (and NO ONE is), he is not the monster some describe either. You people need to get a life and stop posting your comments when it is impossible for him to defend himself to each of you. Ever heard of "he said, she said"? Why are these drug seekers or any of you to be believed? What makes you all so credible? I have known him as long or longer than many of you and know some things you say are completely false. Those 2 cases settled years ago were probably just settled to quiet the drug seekers so he could get back to treating his patients. If they were so sure he was a criminal, why did they take the money instead of putting him behind bars??? Maybe the "guilty" plea was his best chance to spare his family the pain of a trial. Stop causing this family more pain.
I have known Dr. Davis for the past 11+ years and I am shocked by this story. I agree with others that have known his as a compassionate, knowledgable and good doctor. I am disappointed in the media (local TV especially) for sensationalizing this story and allowing the woman that settled out of court in the past to make the comments she did on the air. I know that many, many patients and friends would strongly disagree with her assessment of Dr. Davis and would be happy to tell the tv news as much. He is a good doctor and a dedicated father and it is a shame he family is being subjected to this without any details at this point. Without the benefit of full details, I find the charges hard to believe. I know he values his family and his practice too much to take such a risk. Even if it was a lapse in his judgement, we are all human and make mistakes, and it would be a crime if he is made to serve jail time. His family and patients would be the ones to suffer the most. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
