In response to the title of this blog; "Make public jobs more like private" I do not think you want to go there. WHY? Private jobs are going to the lowest bidder in countries like China, India and Mexico. Workers in high tech have no leverage to fight and stop suicidal trade policies like Nafta from rapping our economy of all middle-class manufacturing and high tech jobs. Workers in government city,state, or federal do not realize how lucky they are since these jobs can not be easily exported. BELIEVE ME YOU DO NOT WANT TO FOLLOW THE PRIVATE JOB MARKET AND END UP HOMELESS UNEMPLOYED WITH NO HOPE OF YOUR JOBS COMING BACK TO THE USA!!! Unless corporate America begins to realize it will cost them more in the long run, but you may be dead by the time they wake up and get some common sense. Example: Boeing outsourced work to foreign countries to save cost but they could not deliver on time and now company loses billions in back logged production because they chose to be penny wise and pound foolish. How long will it take for America to wake up?
