Should Forum Health close Northside Medical Center?

Quail:

If you understand the situation then you must also know that Northside is now financially profitable and the question from following this situation is basically very simple. It is wall street v/s main street. They “Forum” filed a plan of reorganization that shows all 3 hospitals profitable for the next three years that was reviewed by all as workable. Then why not implement it to have access to health care and the banks get paid? Go to MBIA’s web site and you will see why, they need cash now for all the bad loans they are covering. Thus wall street sells liquidates our local hospitals for cash now, and we in main street get to pick up the tap and pay the highest price of all. So your comment about St Ez becomes relevant in that if Northside can be profitable then why shouldn’t it, if the only problem is making money? We the public need to wake up, not meaning cause any panic. But this situation is very concerning to say the least. What should we do? Why not start with holding our elected officials accountable for not getting involved in this thing. We should all start calling them and request action from them in the form of insisting they get involved by insisting they support the plan of reorganization that allows these hospitals to continue to be open and pay their loans back as well. The editorial in Saturdays paper asked the question where are all the politicians? If the politicians don’t get involved why vote for them?? What better cause than allow access to healthcare and choice for our community?? Hope this helps not leave you hanging quail.

Why don't we have a poll to close St. EZ?
Do people understand the effect on healthcare buy closing any hospital?
Why is it fashionable to designate Northside in this discussion and not St Ez?

Buzz: One man’s refusal to go the easy route

Piskur took over the helm Forum was in disarray and he refocused the mission and developed a "plan", the plan and vision allowed for 3 hospitals all to be self sustaining and profitable providing access and choice to quality healthcare. That plan was submitted to the courts with the blessing of all parties as workable and profitable for 3 years, yet bankers want quick cash to get out of town why? Why not implement the plan that allows the creditors to be paid and the community to have access and choice to quality healthcare is the ultimate point to be made here!! Some people for their own self motivating financial interests do not want to see this happen for obvious reasons. They say, Forum needs somebody that has "healthcare experience" my recall is that outside "consultant experts" just about dismantled the Healthcare system and left it far worse. Ask yourself without access and choice who stands to gain and who would loose and who would pay the ultimate price? Our community would pay the highest price of all in declining quality and increase in price for care as well as lack of access all in the name of MBA, Fifth 3rd Bank, JP Morgan. Mr. Piskur stood in front of the financial bankers’ bus, he got run over for all the wrong reasons!! The Attorney Generals office should be investigating this undue influence being exerted on a non-profit Board of Directors put in place to protect the publics’ interest and where are the local politicians?? People wake up this is a man trying to help our community against the push of big banker’s interest. Some people still have integrity that is not for sale at any price!! Thank You "Buzz", having integrity and stepping up is almost extinct today and the article is very much on point and well done, Thank You Todd for seeing the trees threw the forest and getting it right!!
