Why are you focusing on the Youngstown Municipal Court judgeship consolidation which after 25 years is no closer to fruition? Judge Tom Campbell of the Trumbull County Central District Court has proposed consolidation of Trumbull County's 2 part-time county courts into one full-time court and you say NOTHING! This proposal would save taxpayers houndreds of thousands of dollars every year. The Vindicator did a brief article on the proposal last week and yet you ignore the whole issue? The Trumbull County proposal has a very real chance of being implemented because unlike the Youngstown Municipal Court, there is an upcoming vacancy in one of the county courts. All court reorganization proposals require 2/3 majorities in both houses of the Ohio General Assembly. Rarely has this ever occurred without such a vacancy. The Trumbull County proposal has been endorsed by the Trumbull County Bar Association and by a majority of local police departments. The Trumbull County Commissioners can't decide if they support it or not! The Commssioners claim they don't have the expertise to decide if this consolidation would be good or not. The reality is that for political gain they are intentionally avoiding the proposal until someone fills the vacancy. As you say "the enemies of progress are powerful"
