Typical knee jerk reaction from politicans who have no clue. I swear the Mahunky Valley is the only place on earth that would kill the goose who lays golden eggs.

Walter, the eldery and disabled qualify for transportation assistance through other sources.
These buses are always empty and further reenforce the fact that this so called service should NOT be subsidised by the taxpayer.
The additional 1/4% tax stifles consumer spending and economic growth in Mahoning county and needs to be repealed next time around. Furthermore, WRTA should be a private entity that will fail or survive on its own merits, just like any other business(with the exception of GM).

Bertram. thank you for pointing out the fact that Melfi once again used the media to his advantage for free in his re election campaign.
Moreover, the fact that you actually believe anything that comes from Melfis mouth proves again that the Vindy is a shill for this guy.
Youngstown may not be perfect, but Melfi is no saint either.

Sorry truth, I'm as pro gun as the next guy but criminals DO get guns from gun shows. Maybe not the majority, but prohibited persons do buy guns at gun shows.

Things are looking up for Girard and will get even better when Melfi loses in May.
VINDY, please, bear in mind that all these things happened in spite of Melfi, not because of him. It is my hope that one day, you will take off your blinders and see what the real Melfi looks like.

If not for the involvement of city council members, Melfi and the law director would have sunk that whole V&M deal for the city. That deal with Youngstown happened in spite of him, not due to him.
If not for members of city council, the $900,000 neighborhood grants wouldnt have happened.
If not for the FEDGOV and Trumbull county, the 3 million grant wouldnt have happened. Those funds were brought to him, he didnt go get them.
They also fail to mention that Melfi was content with NOT purchasing new cop cars for the PD, and if not for city council over ride of his veto, they would still be driving heaps.
The list goes on and on....

The city would have been out of debt sooner had Melfi not spent money on foolishness.
