Sick of hearing "it's no big deal" "Mooney is a good school" "these are good kids" "kids will be kids" "they thanked God for their win" "but they were just celebrating" "quit hating on Mooney"...seriously, enough. It was illegal, it was wrong. Bad decisions were made, and now those involved have to be held accountable for their actions. it's too bad that the people who should have been looking out for these boys failed to do their jobs.
Look, no one can argue that these boys had great season and they brought a State title back to Youngstown, and that should be celebrated, just not in the way it was. It was wrong to have cigars and alcohol on school grounds in the presence of minors. shame on those who supplied it and on those who didn't put a stop to it. But please do not excuse the fact that all involved; coaches, parents and yes the student football players all made a poor decision that night. Sorry, but just because you thanked God for the win does not make it right. Yes kids will drink and smoke, but on school grounds is just wrong. Adults, please do not defend their actions. Just take it as a lesson learned and move on.
