I am the proud mom of a 26 year old single mother who is in the process of purchasing a home a block from Wick Park. I must admit that two years ago when my daughter moved to the Northside I was not thrilled at all. My mind has been changed when I see the progress being made to restore this community to its previous glory. While it will never be the way it was, it will be different and in my opinion better. Have you seen the neighborhood gardens popping up in the area? What a great way to use green space and there is no reason why when some of these houses are torned down, gardens can't grow. There are many good people committed to making this a better place to live, my daughter being one of them. Wick Park deserves any funds it gets to improve it. It is not a bad place now and will only continue to improve. And yes I have been there with my grandson on many occasions and no I never fear for my life. Please, if you don't want to be part of this renovation, don't try to bring down those that do. This conditions didn't appear overnight and will not be fixed overnight. I look forward to seeing nothing but good things happen to the Northside. Keep up the good work. To my daughter, I am proud of you and your strength and courage, you are just one of the many flowers blooming on the Northside.
