Perhaps but perhaps not. It most likely be bes if Youngstown State Univesity transition to a division 1a football program. The best players want to play 1a ball. Recruiting would be easy if YSU was 1a, Phishie
Hi Perhaps the board should consider consolidating schools with another near by school district. Another possibility would be to audit each employee position. Such would determine whether or not a position is needed or can be integrated with another position and eliminated. Many educational organizations are over staffed with over paid postions.
Actually, the info provided in the news story is old info from Census stats. Current info is that Youngstown/Warren is the fastest growing economic area in the state. So, most of the above messages are moot.Things are lookin good ........... PHISHIE

As the communist China poverty rate declines the U.S. poverty rate increases. Too many U.S. factories are being relocated to communist China. Write your Senators and Congress Persons, tell them to initate laws to stop the relocation of U.S. factories and technology to communist China, Vietanam and other communist nations.
Apparently, SB5 is anti union. Interestingly, a great part of state tax dollars go to non union state employees. Also, interestingly, according to a recent local radio show interview with a economist, the Youngstown-Warren area is currently the fastest growing area in Ohio.
Does anyone really believe that teachers' unions will be eliminated? Does anyone really believe that management does not have the obligation to fiscally manage an organization? The two groups must learn to compromise. Comprise without resorting to juvenile behavior. It is sooooo silly to see adults with PHDs accusing and pointing fingers at each other. How embarrassing. Also, by consolidating, only one of each sport team s needed. Savings mucho money on equipment and coaches. Most likely would only need 1 nurse and a asst. No need to maintain two stadiums. etc etc
Canfield needs to consdolidte with Western Reserve Schools. Then teachers with small numbers of students in classes can be eliminated. Then, only one Super is needed, one Treasurer, one Athletic Director etc.etc..........Many positions can be eliminated in both systems. Ohio needs to start consolidating schools..........PHISHIE
