Papa1 - Please explain to all of us how the minimum wage debate relates to "crumbling bridges". Not sure how the infrastructure of the United States of America relates to minimum wage conversation. Keep on topic my friend or at least state some facts to backup your opinion.

Anyone in favor of this needs a basic lesson in Economics 101. Raising the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour will destroy millions of jobs in this country, not create them. Would you rather there be 10 employees in a small business making the current minimum wage or 6 employees making the new minimum wage? Small businesses will NOT be able to sustain their current payroll with such an increase and therefore they will be forced to eliminate positions. This will put millions more in the unemployment line. Ask anyone who runs a small business and they will tell you the same thing. The idea that this would stimulate the economy and create jobs is foolish. Minimum wage jobs are just that, MINIMUM wage for minimal skills. These jobs are meant to be stepping stones, not life long careers that are required to maintain a household and a family.
