Obama is best for our Valley’s economy

And to common_sense:

Who bailed out the fat cats on Wall Street? Who proposed and pushed through the $700 billion gift from the average US tax payer to the billionaires on Wall Street? Who gave $123 billion to AIG so that they could continue to enjoy their $600 lunches and $400,000 resort retreats? Who bailed out Bear, Stearns? Who bailed out Goldman, Sachs?

And why was not a single homeowner facing foreclosure bailed out?

Socialism for the billionaires, capitalism for the rest of us.

And why was all this necessary? Bank deregulation. McCain proudly trumpetted deregulation, and voted for it.

McCain is a cranky old man worth $100 million. He didn't make a dollar of that money. He married it. He is the same spoiled brat who got to the US Naval Academy, in spite of lousy grades, because his dad was an Admiral. McCain graduated 894th out of 899.

McCain voted for the Bush tax cuts that you like so much, giving himself two million dollars. While taxes were not being paid and two new wars were being fought, Bush submitted eight of the eight largest budgets, creating eight of the eight largest deficits, pushing our national debt to $10.3 trillion. Bush is the first President to cut taxes while fighting wars, and this stupidity has contributed to our current national financial crisis.

The idea that Republicans represent fiscal responsibility is a cruel joke.

Obama is best for our Valley’s economy

McCain said that the auto industry jobs that left us have "left forever." McCain is wrong about this, as he has been wrong about a lot of things.

The idea that it's okay for American jobs to go overseas is based on the idea that the jobs left for us should be "higher up" the production chain. Low skill jobs overseas, high skill jobs here.

China and India are already making computers, writing software, and doing other "high end" production. So what is left for us?

Everything is left for us. We should be making our own steel, instead of importing it from Brazil. We should be making our own ships, instead of buying them from South Korea. We should be making our own computers. And we should be making our own cars.

We have an opportunity now to lead the 21st Century. Electric cars, solar panels, whatever you think will be the technology of the future: We should build it, here, in Ohio.

McCain, Palin keep up ‘socialist’ attacks on Obama

I don't mind the "socialist" attacks that McCain makes against Obama. There are legitimate points to dispute there, regarding their views on the economy, taxation, etc.

(I hate McCain's and Palin's sleaze, but that is not the subject of this article.)

Regarding the "socialist" thing, George W. Bush and his supporters have led us to the greatest intrusion of government into the economy that I have ever seen.

We have $10.3 trillion debt to the Chinese and Saudis, thanks to Bush and McCain. Bush doubled the national debt.

Bush proposed, and McCain voted for, 8 of the largest budget deficits in our history.

Of their $1.5 trillion tax cut, 70% went to the top 1%. I got $600 out of the last one. Boy, that really changed my life. I could by an AIG lunch with that.

* The Paulson giveaway of $700 billion to the Wall Street fat cats,
* the giveaway of $125 billion to AIG so that they could enjoy their half-million dollars retreats and $600 lunches, * the buyout of 20% of commercial paper (corporate short-term loans) of American banks

-- all of this has made this government the most socialist in my lifetime.

McCain said all through the 2000s that he supported Bush "over 90% of the time" and bragged that he supported Bush more than other Republicans. It's only in the last six months that he's gotten religion and said he opposes Bush.

McCain voted for deregulation of the banking industry. That's another fact.

And here is something else: McCain is worth $100 million, money he didn't make, money he married. So yeah, McCain is a fat cat who supports socialism for the wealthy and capitalism for the rest of us.

And BTW Ohio, Chrysler announced today that it is closing another plant and laying off thousands more.

If you are delusional and suicidal, vote for McCain.

AP poll shows virtual tie

The AP poll is an outlier, which is to say it is completely wrong. The AP results do not fall within the margins of error of 12 other national polls, with the exception of the GWU poll. The GWU polls is also biased, with 60% of all respondents self-reporting as "Conservative."

Giuliani criticizes Obama experience, urges Republicans to work hard to elect McCain as president

Obviously Giuliani is wrong. GW Bush has been the worst President in my lifetime.

Our national debt is $10 trillion. Bush has presided over eight of the eight largest federal budget deficits. McCain voted for every one of Bush's budgets.

The current crisis was caused by greedy mortgagors and dumb mortgagees. McCain voted to deregulate the mortage industry.

What is not needed is a long and checkered resume. What is needed is common sense.
