Wow!!! I have been sitting her in awe reading all of the comments from everyone...black, white. I am a white woman from the Northside of Youngstown (Very proud of it). A graduate from The Rayen School. I am glad to announce that I have made it thru the so called "gutters" of the world. Anyone who spoke about "choices" I would have to agree with you. I was raised by a single mother, who suffers from mental illness and unfortunately my 2 siblings have been infected as well. They have taken to the street life. (Yes, they are also white) By God's blessing, I made it out safe. I love where I grew up and would never change a day of it. I have seen racism on both ends of the spectrum. I have as many black friends as I do white friends. I lived in AZ for about 4 yrs and I have to say that I watched the news every night and seen only 1 black man on TV for committing a crime. The truth is people... Y-town is prodominately black so of course the crime rate will be higher in the black community. In AZ there are 3% blacks. so it is low. I just wish the few of you who have not seen anything else but Y-town would spread your wings and see a bigger city where there are all walks of life working/living next to each other. I do hate that Y-town is so segregated. It is a shame.
