Okay, I do agree that he shouldn't have been jailed for something like this...that was very unfair...but to say that a woman that stays home, raises the kids, keeps the house livable and has to have sex (when most times we really don't want to) when a divorce happens we have to walk away with nothing because we didn't work outside the home. Well, a little insight, when in my house the roles were reversed, hubby said that he would work ten jobs before having to do that again and now understands why the woman should get half in a divorce even if she didn't work. Then let's take the woman that works too and still comes home and does 95% of the work at home too. It's not that the system favors women, it's just that they finally saw the hard work it takes to maintain a home. Let's see you men do that and still have your opinions. Wash clothes, attend every event for the kids, five kids, cook dinner six days a week, keep a house that has kids, dogs and company clean on a constant basis, stay good looking, and work 40 + hours a week. And then tell me I can't get half when you want to leave!!!! Get real!!
The repubes had 8 years plus to get it together and did nothing....They are part of why this is happening. Wow, Youngstown is so in need of being nuked and shoveled over like the ground at the WTC's and forgotten about. As soon as I get the first unemployment check, I am heading out of here to find a place to relocate and the next few unemployment checks will help me move there. It's time to get out of here and let all of the old and lazy people have it.
Okay, so because we have a black mayor and a black chief of police and a black president, all racial inequality ceases? Wow, how naive. We all know this country was build off of racism and it will always be around no matter who's in "charge". I don't have a twisted perception of anything, I have a real outlook on things because I have lived it. You tell the mother it wasn't that important to find his body even though they knew he was dead. This is why Youngstown will never get far, because of the small mindedness that lives here. There is a world out there you know, go explore it and then tell me status, race, environment didn't play a part in how the job was done. Don't tell me the YPD does 'ALL THEY CAN/COULD' when I see three and four cars sitting in a parking lot talking to each other and smoking weed and even turning tricks....and don't say it doesn't happen when, because they have no respect for 'the hood' they do it right in front of us. It happens....I am tired of the suburbanites speaking on things they have no idea about. If you have never been in the midst of it, don't speak of it. I have lived in the suburbs and I decided to move back here, where I am more accepted and feel I can do more good with my tax money and for my neighbors. Always know what you talk about before you talk about it.
The lady who claimed two black men kidnapped her and her daughter was national news, they found out she was lying.....Cailey Anthony was national news, Natalie something or other (over the age of 17), national news, the little girl in Cali, national news; the little girl missing from Marocco, national news....that girl missing in NY that wasn't supposed to go on Spring break, national news....Do you get where I am coming from....because he was a BLACK MALE, he got shoulder shrugged and then lazily looked for....I am not saying call out the national guard or even all of the police force, but at least 'ACT' like you care YPD. And to comment about that two parent theory: Not necessarily true...there are plenty of guys in jail, dead and evil that came from two parent, loving homes. It depends on the person's ability to deal with the real world and how they perceive it. Plenty of strippers come from good homes, murderers come from good homes, etc....When you live in a community that you think the government can care less about, then you care less about it too, unless you have someone teaching, telling and showing you different and even then it's up to the person to do what they think/know is right. The fact of the matter is, it was done wrong and the YPD should have done a better job. My heart goes out to this family, especially the mom. I am a mother of five beautiful kids and one of them is an adult and if something would happen to him, I would hope that they would look for him just like they looked for all those who received national coverage. God Bless the Jackson family and may some justice and peace come to them.
I have to agree with the comment of greed. That is why GM is in this situation. They pay their workers salaries that they don't deserve and they pay workers to sleep. They cut the pay of the little people, but those making high 5 & 6 figure salaries and not even doing the work they were hired to do still get to keep their pay and be laid off, but "on call". Now if that is not a crock I don't know what is. Unemployment is good for everyone and if they really wanted to see their company "restructured" then they should not take the pay and go on unemployment just like everyone else. I can't get 90% of my pay and I am a contracted worker that is set up at the Lordstown facility who took a 10% pay cut and 10% cut in hours months ago and am now truly laid off and having to depend on unemployment, and I already wasn't making what the guy counting screws was making. When will the real workers get to stop carrying those who hardly work-but have a degree-so they make more money-even though they are not smarter than a fifth grader folks?
Yeah, you can. I have three teens and I would kill them if I ever found out that they reacted in that manner. I have to agree with the policy because there are so many instances where you try to go out and have adult time and because of unsupervised wild behavior, I was not able to enjoy myself. Implementing strict policies on anything will make people rethink their own personal policies; like perhaps, teaching their kids to behave in public places and have respect for people. And, hey, my oldest is 19 so I don't have to go the movies with them, he can take them. So sorry for all you who used the movies as a babysitting tool. Time to babysit your own kids now.
As a contacted employee of GM, I hate them. They are full of crap because everyone wants the power but not the responsibility. When they get rid of guys who come in and get paid to sleep all day because there is nothing for them to do, that's when they will succeed. Until then, they will continue to fail. When they really pay attention to the workers and stop letting them make cars when they drunk out of their minds or high off of whatever the drug of choice was for that day, then GM will succeed. I see everyday the types of people who so call run this place and I tell you, my 10 year old could do better. See, someone commented on they only made what we wanted and that's why we are in this mess. Boy, get some ballz because we can only buy what they make. If they were only making good environmentally safe cars, then that's what we'd have to drive, right? do you let your kids determine what bills you pay, what clothes to buy them, when to put gas in your car, when they need a hair cut, etc? No, then sometimes, government/businesses shouldn't let everyday, non-business people determine what's right in business. GM is full of crap and if they don't change more than the car plan they will still fail!!!
To the person who commented about statute of limitations: you should really think about that. There is no statute on how long the person will go through the mental ramifications of the abuse. I don't know the pastor or about the church, but I know whatever the truth is, it will come to light. And to all of you said they never saw any implications of abuse while with the pastor, maybe you weren't his type. My abusers are into church, have prominent careers and a nice family while all the other family members don't have a clue of what transpired when I was young. It has been 30+ years since my abuse and believe me, it still plays a part of my everyday life, in raising my kids (they don't sleep over anyone's house), even my own sex life with my husband. So before slamming either side, take a look at things, signs and actions. There is no limit on the effect so there should be no limit on statutes!!! And bravery doesn't come overnight. It takes time for people to gather courage to tell something like this. It took me over 20 years to say anything and I got looked at by the person like I was crazy. Now how is that for support. So tot he pastor and his congregation, God knows the truth and you reap what you sow. That goes to the person who is accusing also if he lying.
That is a good question. Why was she sleep on a school morning. But to the point, they really need to see what was this kid thinking about. Eleven year old kids don't go around thinking about shooting anyone unless there is something deeper going on. How do we not know if she was messing around with him. Or, I understand the rural community and their love of hunting, but now you see why there should be stricter gun laws. This is what happens when government takes the power away from the parents.
This is what happens when the fat cat Republicans & Democrats only think of themselves. I work for a company contracted by GM and am located in the offices and the mood around there is too somber to even think straight. I am not very old but I am too old to be looking for another career and this is the best thing this area has and probably will ever have. This has been the worst 8 years of my life! Maybe if all these fat cat execs pay could be frozen, that would be helpful, but tell that to the already 2,000+ workers that have been laid off only to find there is nothing here that will pay them like GM. Heck, there is nothing here period. Wake up people or our kids are doomed.
