As I am concerned the lack of justice isn't in the plea deal, it is the maximum sentence. Plea Deals are good for the expediting the judicial process, and the best reason to take a plea deal in this type of case, is to keep the victim from having to testify, but ten years? That is the maximum allowed for this type of crime? In another country he would have been stoned to death.

This is one of those times when the punishment does not fit the crime.

Doghead hit the issue right on the head. It is a cycle. People aren't just getting money, then paying it back. They are getting money THEY DON'T HAVE, then paying it back, then taking out another loan to recover for paying last pay check's loans, and so on, and so on. So people end up paying 30 dollars a month indefinitely for a loan they took out once.

Then, when they are short one paycheck, and can't pay it back, that is when the obscene interest rate really shows itself. So they payment that was $15 snowballs into something greater. THIS is why this industry needs to be regulated.

Group Homes are a necessity, even if the placement is temporary. For the neighbors to live in fear is just silly. I know, because I was raised in group homes. Kids labeled as dangerous don't end up in places like these. They end up in locked-down facilities. I would imagine that if the neighbors were adequately educated, they would be a lot less resistant to the idea.

Most of the kids in homes like these come from homes that are just like any other. You could walk past the house of an at-risk youth, and never know. The fact that these kids are in group homes, does not make them criminals, and the fact that the neighbors are portraying them as potential criminals is preposterous.

Yes, most of these kids have issues. Yes, some of them even run away. Heck, when I was a kid, I ran away a total of 24 times. It wasn't because I was dangerous, or the group home atmosphere was abusive. It was because of post traumatic stress.

I am deeply saddened by this article. These people are helping create the kinds of people they want to hide from. When you teach a kid that he is a criminal, what do you think he is going to do? When you cross the street, or hide behind your blinds everytime you see him, what do you think is going through his young mind? When he reads an article about how an opposition group thinks he might be a sex offender, how do you think he will develop.

Do you think it is possible that he may start to believe you? Instead of stunting them with your ignorance, encourage them with your support. In most of the places I lived, the neighbors knew who and what we were. They didn't have a problem, because they knew what a group home was. It is NOT a juvenile detention center. It is NOT a breeding ground from crime, and sexual deviants.

But go ahead. Let your fear over run you. Rub these kids out. While we are at it, let's make a new zone, just for foster kids. Actually, let's just take the kids, and put them in a concentration camp on an island, because it is there own fault that there parents were screwed up.

Get with the program people. You see group home kids everyday, and don't even know it. They go to school with your kids. They work summer jobs with your kids. They even study with your kids. The only difference is their circumstances.

The more I read this, the more annoyed I get. Maybe the person who wrote "162nd CANFIELD FAIR The freedom to rock" should have swung by this event, too. That was a great article. It captured the excitment of the event. It almost sounded like that writer had been at the event longer than 15 minutes.

Of all the artists that came, the writer only mentions Young Trajik, and that was because his mom was there!! What about Levert II? Maybe the readers have heard of Levert. Billy Beck of the Ohio Players, perhaps? Some of the Younger readers may have heard of DJ Unk, or Final Draft, as they are always getting played on the air.

But no, lets not name drop, because that would be beneath a us. Lets just call them 5 nationaly known artists.

But make sure you mention Young Trajik. Can't forget him or his mom.

This article does not remotely do this event justice. It reads like either the writer showed up early, or showed up late. If the writer had actually been there at the end, the tone of the article would have been just a tad more up beat, as the level of excitment was contagious.

There were over 7,000 people there.

Some of the things that are being said here truly sicken me. All of these people are passing judgment on a man that I know has one of the BEST reputations in the faith based community. (And believe me we know about the less than reputable "clergy" in our ranks) Pastor Paramore is a GOOD man, and a Godly man. Because the reason wasn't given to the high and mighty vindicator, that means he is a crook? Who knows why the Vindicator doesn't know why it was canceled. I can make a phone call right now and find out for myself, but to be honest, I would rather watch the vocal, cynical, pessimistic minority try to figure it out for themselves.

As I said before, these are very very organized people, who only do God's work, and usually take financial hits left and right to do so. I can tell you that he is an anointed man of God, and I can tell you that is congregation are spirit-filled, but instead I will just say shame on you for passing uninformed judgment. Especially when your only insight into the situation is a 3 sentence article.

Wow.

I am not a member but I can tell you that CRDC are VERY organized people. If the march was canceled, it was for good reason. It may have had something to do with the Italian festival going on downtown. Who knows?
