Where is the outrage about the lack of planning by this administration to spend $50,000 on a special election? 2010 saw the current board take one time revenue from the electric aggregation bonus of somewhere near $600,000 to help cover the shortage in spending. The Canfield school Boardman township property owners should get some reduction on this levy.
Boardman would be better off without Walmart. How lucky they will be now that Walmart is building an even bigger store there. That is a good place for the new substation and all ten new police officers to patrol on foot. Pass that levy!
To the earlier comment about tax increases, I am in the Canfield school district, Boardman Twp. We were really taking a hit on property taxes if the school levy had passed, now with this we will be higher than the $600 increase mentioned before. Canfield schools will probably never pass a levy if they need votes from the Boardman Twp. side.
How long will the City be able to function without the income tax paid by the business. Is the Meridian Road location in the city because they had to have their business there for something with the firework operation?
We have Boardman worried about trains? Administrator gets a grant for a dog park. Seems like cutting overhead should be the goal and grants for the township. Misplaced priorities.
What about the eyesore at Washington Blvd and Southern Blvd with the barricades at Boardman Steel. Trustees help solve that problem and work on your budget and quit with the scare tactics.
The problems for all the communities with labor or budget problems is at the hands of those in charge who were more concerned with keeping the employees happy than making prudent financial decisions. We should be able to go after them for either being stupid(maybe that doesn't count) or lying to the taxpayers.
When Betras actually does something to bring jobs to the area, ends welfare abuse, and supports struggling local government's effort to control their costs, then he is doing something. But in the meantime he just blows hot air and likes to listen to himself.

Nonresidents commit most serious crimes in Boardman
So the question is - do the taxpayers of Boardman need another tax that moves money around a problem being described in many of the comments here?
