I believe that you're absolutely right, and I hope that the Obama/Biden ticket, which I support, will respond to your inquiry quickly and positively. It's important for the readers of the Mahoning Valley to have access to information and you're doing us a service. When you let voters of our great, working class town know where Obama and Joe Biden stand, I am sure they will support the team.

Well, this article was incorrect. We did get specifics tonight, and the specifics only showed how clueless McCain is about domestic policy, while Obama articulated an ambitious, careful plan to take our delicate finanancial situation into a potential recovery.

OldManGrump, I agree. There is a Supreme Court decision against "fighting words" that incite violence, which is where the republican party is headed with their increasingly angry mob shouting obviously false and malicious statements about an honorable candidate. When pressed about a decision she didn't agree with, perhaps Palin should have said Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire? Then she could really do some work.

I mean, if you want to see a place of faded former glory, look no farther than the magazines pages.

How sad is McCain's campaign that rather than speaking about what he will do and can do, all he does it make false claims about his opponent? Our country so does not need that kind of politics right now.

How heartless can you be to suggest that someone disabled should rely exclusively on family in order to maintain mobility and independence? We just a society by how we treat its weakest, poorest people - children, the elderly, the disabled. Yes you absolutely should help poor people maintain the dignity and independence that allows them to work, shop, go to church, and see their friends, by providing public transportation. And as for the poor - wake up! If the banks don't make loans for cars, more and more people will have no other option.

And Biden can, in truth, answer that with one word, "yes." Palin, on the other hand, is a know-nothing disaster. The Couric interview was so painful to watch. We should not pity our politicians, and I pity her.

It's great to see young people energized by this election, as well they should be given that the disastrous decisions of the last eight years have given their young lives a tough start. Let's just hope they don't get tricked into "more of the same."

Obama wants to modernize and expand the current US military, end the current, wasteful and futile Republican-created war, give full support to our neglected returning veterans and their families AND ensure that diplomacy is used to its full extent before going to another war. That is the security policy I want.

Ask Republicans not to insult our intelligence here - ignore the visit all together. She's not a serious candidate, she's a smokescreen to the real issue, which is McCain's total failure to create new policies, new ideas, or any sort of hope or excitement for the future. What a shame that the only way we even have a race is through the bait of a laughable embarrassment of a VP choice whose incompetence makes for amusing water cooler chat. We should be ashamed to even dignify this VP selection. Who would vote for someone who nominates such a moron?
