Plus hospitalization cost will go up, perhaps more than 2.5% per year, if a union member dues must be paid, & Ardent's infamous Job Erosion/Subcontracting language could cost each union, at each hospital 16% of it's membership over the life of the contract.
Bidders may be at a premium. Ardent's pre-sale negotiations gives them an advantage over other bidders. They have a contract in place if they acquire Forum. Other bidders would have to accept the current contract or try to negotiate a contract with unions that have already endorsed Ardent, assuming there is time & the local would engage in good faith bargaining.
