You are so right Billy Bob. And by calling homosexual unions a marriage, we are opening the door to more problems. Next thing you know, some nut is going to want to "marry" his dog. Hey, he has the right to love whomever he wants, right? Where does it end?
And anyway, it doesn't matter what Obama says he believes. First of all, he doesn't really believe it. He's just saying so.
And secondly, it's not going to change anything anyway. He's not going to act on it. He's not planning on doing anything about it. He's just saying it to appease the gay activists who were threatening to pull their financial support. So people have no reason to get all worked up over his statement. It's just more Obama blabber.
Obama will say whatever he needs to say to try to get re-elected. When will people learn this!
I am neither condemning nor condoning his stance. The problem is, IT'S NOT HIS TRUE STANCE. In 1995 he was FOR gay marriage; in 2008, during the national election, he was AGAINST gay marriage. Now is 2012, he decides he might garner more votes, so he's back to being FOR gay marriage. This guy is worthless!
How can we believe a word he says? We can't! I am so disappointed in Obama. When he first came onto the scene, even before the 2008 election, I was so excited about him. Since his election, I have become more and more disgusted by him. America was duped.
Time to give someone else a chance. And if that guy doesn't cut it, then he needs to go over after 1 term, as well.
Congratulations to these two young men! Their parents have much to be proud of. It's always nice to see stories of young people doing GOOD instead of the usual negativity in the news.
A concerned parent has to go to the Board to bring any attention to this serious incident? I keep wondering what connection Boardman High School has to the media to keep their "incidents" out of the news.
I had heard about this situation about a week ago, and have been watching the news for reports. Nothing. There were 2 other incidents I was told about from BHS students last week, neither of which were reported. And the same week that the media was harping on the Mooney cigars, I was told about a very serious matter involving drugs at BHS. Still no reports in the news.
If this doesn't show bias in the media for and against certain schools, I don't know what does.
Celebratory cigars and champagne as headline news? Please.
RealTruth, That is EXACTLY what it is -- a a scare tactic to cause people to vote for their levy again.
First of all, both of the neighborhoods mentioned in the article are far from poor -- these people have cars (and probably much nicer cars than most of us), and can take their kids to school if they don't want them walking.
Secondly, when we were kids, we walked to school a full mile away. Didn't hurt us. And I lived in the city of Youngstown. Of course, it was safer then. But Canfield is hardly a high-crime area, so I'm sure they'll be just fine.
People need to suck it up, & realize that we're in tough times. Especially the Canfield School board. I'm sure they could find other areas to cut that are unnecessary, instead of busing. But that would affect the administration and staff, not the kids, and wouldn't force the parents into paying for their never-ending spending and levies.
Enough is enough. We've said NO to their levy countless times. Time for them to understand that and make the proper adjustments to their budget. I've cut back on my spending, they need to do the same.
Yeah, Fred, it's the governments responsibility to teach them that it's wrong to kill each other. I guess they didn't know that...
This is exactly the problem ... they think that the government (and the rest of us) are responsible for all their problems, instead of taking the responsibility for their own actions. AND THEY HAVE A HUGE SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT THAT THE GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO ENABLE by handing them everything on the backs of those of us who ARE responsible!!!!

Betras apologizes for insults to candidate
The fact that a slimy, disgusting ambulance-chaser like Betras is involved in ANYTHING in our community makes me sick.
