The issue is being glossed over. THE POLICE SHOULD HAVE GONE FURTHER IN THEIR INVESTIGATION OF THE TWO PHONE CALLS REPORTING CRIES FOR HELP. For God's sake, folks, you are POLICEMEN. Get out of your cars and check around..... there were two phone calls !! I do not even live in the area (California, to be exact), but this horror has haunted me since the first report. Mansell Drive, and you can't bother to check yards, or homes, or with the caller.... I can't bear to think what you would (NOT) do if assigned to my old neighborhood on the North Side. I could be 35 and fall in confusion - or drunkenness, does it matter ??? - and you would ride around in your car and never even notice me. I am just too sad for that woman. You need to bear the blame for everyone's sadness on this. You are supposed to PROTECT and to SERVE. for shame.
