I have followed these blogs for quite some time...primarily for the entertainment. It is amazing that some one could post almost 2,000 times and only makes sense in approximately 5 or 6 of those submissions.
The President admitted from the onset that the government did not have the capability to solve this crisis. His demands were put on BP and justly so. You are correct...the people needed immediate help and getting the cash flowing was necessary. Better than having them fight it out in the courts for years...makes 58 days a bit more palitable. I understand that the same person that made the cash distributions for President Bush after 9/11 will be taking on this task also. It is amazing the amount of crap that was dumped on our last two Presidents. You have to be nuts to want that job.
President Obama has approached this disaster in a well thought out methodical fashion. He consulted experts and attacked the problem with some degree of knowledge. He wants to protect America and the US citizens impacted by this tragedy. I am amazed that his opposition is apologizing to BP (a foreign company) for being strong armed by the White House. I believe BP has agreed to start paying restitution now because if they wait the costs will become much higher to those impacted.
When we allow the oil industry to write our energy policies then I guess we get what we deserve. Thank you Bush administration for relaxing all those many regulations that helped put the Country where it is today. BP had 700 serious issues over the past 10 years.
Now we find all those that demand Government stay out of business and our lives cursing it because they have not solved this problem. Granted...a problem we helped create.
Pelosi (like or dislike) has been very successful and Tim was smart enough to associate himself with that succcess. It tanslates into the Valley finally getting help. Comparing the USA with Greece is silly. Greece has no way to grow out of their debt. The USA can although it will take time.
I do agree that open debate is necessary but many of todays Politicians have learned well from Carl Rove and his handeling of George Bush. Only supporters were permitted to attend his rallys. Not a great way of promoting debate.
The Tim and Jim show will be interesting. If it keeps the Valley in the news we can only benefit.
We have a Representative that is bringing our tax dollars back to us and we want to get rid of him? We now have a more positive spotlight on the Valley and we are actually making some progress and we want to put a stop to this? We will be paying taxes no matter who is in office...let's get something for our investment.
Do you agree with President Obama demanding the resignation of Gen. Stanley McChrystal?

Vindyak,
Thanks for the translation. Nunya's attempts at flowery prose can sometimes be difficult to follow.

Obama: Cut tax breaks for oil companies
The mess in the Gulf may have something to do with allowing the Oil Industry Execs write our National Energy Policy.
