Brokers have the software to snap up a dozen tickets in a nano-second. Then they have the "licence" to scalp, er, I mean - sell them at 50 times the face value.
I have gone through that dump maybe 4 or 5 times for a quick pack of smokes on my way to or from work. Three times that place has tried to short-change me for a buck or more. The last time I thought "you'll get yours one day pal." I hope he loses his liquor licence!
Has anyone checked out the GM / Chevy car model "Spirit" ?? Made in China, it is one of the most popular cars in India.
Or how about the current model of the Ford "Fiesta" ??? Cannot be sold in North America.
These are fuel efficient vehicles that are no doubt profitable to make, and easy on the budget. Americans have been fed a trough of BS regarding GM's "inability" to fund "research and development" while Ford makes back room deals to keep products offshore.
The ones to blame are the CEO's and the political hacks that keep this country in an ever spinning spiral downward toward bankruptcy.
I think GM would be in a lot better financial shape today if they offered cars like these during the oil crisis of the 1970's.. or 1980's ... okay, maybe the technology wasn't around then. But they could have had more fuel efficient cars out 10 years ago. or 5.

I wouldn't go down to that neighborhood at night on a bet.

How many cars would GM have to sell, just to pay back the government loans?
