Well ...I guess the Voinovich cheerleaders on this thread are proud that George is endorsing McCain. Are you also proud of his twice past endorsements of George W Bush for President ? That's called bad judgement.
And speaking of endorsements as reported recently....Al Qaeda, like Voinovich, have also endorsed John McCain.
Voinovich joins many others in the Republican party that won't admit their recent past "leadership" and control of all three branches of our federal government has been a total failure. So what does he do to distract from his record of failure .....and welfare for the rich, super-rich and the many GOP connected corporations? He embraces the tactics of Joe McCarthy by name-calling.....he has nothing else to offer. Same ole ...same ole... Fear and Smear... the GOP's twin gods. Also as far as Voinovich and his "leadership" in the past as Governor of Ohio....what were some his hard fought for issues and legislation? 1) He got a labor law changed to benefit the "V" group Voinovich family construction company. 2) He made a big deal about fighting for a state motto ..."With God All Things Are Possible." Did those things help most Ohioans? Neither stemmed the tsunami of outsourced job losses across Ohio and neither created a state that is attractive to educated and creative people. And neither did his special interests and failure agenda address all the working Ohioans that have lost their healthcare or have undoable options but have been paying for his (Voinovich's) healthcare for decades. His record is that of failure to address the issues affecting millions of Ohioans and opportunism for himself. Voinovich is just another tool for special interests: certain rich people and certain corporations...and add to that his red meat appetizers for Ohio's Dobson crowd. Shame on him. His record of failure has earned him a seat at Dunkin Donuts ...not another six years in the Senate.
From a debate in October 2007, John McCain's caught in a huge flip flop. So what changed between then and now, or is his judgment on these matters so flimsy and reckless that it calls into question his fitness to be Commander in Chief?
"I have had a strong and a long relationship on national security, I've been involved in every national crisis that this nation has faced since Beirut, I understand the issues, I understand and appreciate the enormity of the challenge we face from radical Islamic extremism," the Senator declared. "I am prepared. I am prepared. I need no on-the-job training. I wasn't a mayor for a short period of time. I wasn't a governor for a short period of time."
The McCain campaign or most likely a dirty tricks surrogate subcontractor are using the same old Rovian tactics.
I reside in the Mahoning Valley and last night I received a call from a call center wanting to poll me about the presidential race. I was excited because I have never before been polled for a presidential race.
I thought it was a legitimate poll after many questions both demographic and issue/candidate oriented were asked and answered. I indicated on several questions that I would strongly support/vote for Obama. Subsequently an avalanche of push-poll questions were unleashed one after the other aimed at satinizing Barack Obama.
I asked the person questioning me if he had analogous set of questions aimed at John McCain supporters/voters.
He said, "no."
I then informed him that this was a push-poll and he was unaware at first of what a push-poll is and what it intends.... I explained the best I could and he almost apologized saying he wasn't informed about much of anything by his leadership.
Push polling isn't about reform or change...it's the same-old...same-old Rove Republican palindrome smear and fear tactics. The same tactics Bush/Rove used against McCain in the 2000 primary race...now McCain has deployed those same Rove people...how sad and desperate.
Maverick? ...not at all. Desperado is the reformed brand now for John McCain.

*********************** Rocco,...You better start telling many more of your straight: friends, relatives, and neighbors ... that they "choose to have sex in disgusting ways" ....because many more of them are enjoying that type of sex...than the few gay people you are choosing to loathe.
Using your convoluted self-righteousness, fear and loathing.... you better start hammering straight persons, especially the "married ones" ...because a whole lot more them are having back-door sex.
New York Magazine shares some data from the Centers for Disease Control's National Survey of Family Growth and the bottom line is that heterosexuals are enjoying more back-door action than ever before.
The survey, released last year, showed that 38.2 percent of men between 20 and 39 and 32.6 percent of women ages 18 to 44 engage in heterosexual anal sex.
Compare that with the CDC's 1992 National Health and Social Life survey, which found that only 25.6 percent of men 18 to 59 and 20.4 percent of women 18 to 59 indulged in ....as you say .."disgusting sex."
The idea that anal is something couples eventually turn to for sexual variety seems to be supported by the CDC survey, which shows the lowest numbers among those who've never been married and are not cohabiting, compared with those who are cohabiting, married, or divorced.
What was that?
It's the married couples -- and you know some in that crowd are the ones who are protecting the sanctity of marriage from the strawman deviant homos.
Oh, by the way, most guys, no surprise, are still afraid of their woman doing the deed to them.
Those that choose to practice the homoloathing lifestyle feel both scared ...but titillated ...but at the same time feeling tingly and filthy. They project their fears and fantasies.

Hmmm.....That list looks pretty much like the Bush2 ... Axis of Evil.

A New Face, A New Race
Woody,
You wrote, "She turned back the pork barrel money the government was going to spend on the bridge to no where."
Not really. Read about it here :: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/01/us/...
She was at least twice for the "Bridge to Nowhere" pork before she was against it. And she was only against it after it became a news story.
And Alaska/Palin got the $220 million in federal pork barrel money even though the bridge project didn't go forward.
So actually she had NOT, "... turned back the pork barrel money the government was going to spend on the bridge to no where."
