At issue here is the fact that the school is, in fact, a public institution, funded publicly, by taxpayers. As such, it has absolutely no prerogative to determine what is appropriate. Denying access to a former student due to physical appearance on the basis of "Health Concerns" is probably the flimsiest most stupid argument I have heard recently. Lets say a student wanted to take a date who had AIDs to her dance. Would that person be disallowed entry? Nope. Not going to happen. This is just an example of a school district trying to exert control over the behavior of its community in a way that is not in standing with its public duties or responsibilities and misapplying the only duty it has in this situation, "public health". Who elected these clowns? Let us hope the mistake is not repeated. Their behavior is not in keeping with what I would expect from a free country.
Piercings keep husband of student out of dances
