Liberty: Emergency Alerts

Someone has been very ineffective informing the public of this system if less than 2% of the population are enrolled after 2 years.

I would suggest having a contest to award a donated ipad to the lucky (selected) resident that signs up for Nixle Alerts.

I do not understand why people are not signed up. My Village of 2100 people has Reverse 911, and if we had this available, most would sign up immediately.

But, then again my Village has a large industrial base that keeps folks on their toes due to the potential for industrial accidents, spills, or fires.

Valley officials want answers about seismic events

LAWSUIT!! D&L Energy, the O.D.N.R., and Kasich, should be sued for their part in the quakes. If it is proven that the FRACKING caused the quakes.

Many homes outside of the Youngstown area sustained damage from the 4.0 quake. If the Fracking caused the quake, then D&L and all of those profiting from the drilling operations are responsible for said damages.

Injection wells not new to Valley, so why are we all shook up

I expected as much from this part of Ohio. As Cuyahoga County puts it corrupt politicians on trial, Youngstown area crooks were recently given a free pass, by their corrupt friends. Now this garbage!!

Hey, VALLEY people and D&L energy expect to start seeing LAWSUITS from the recent 4.0 quake. That's right, people in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Potage, Summit, Stark, and other counties that had damage from the 4.0 quake know where the epicenter was. And we will be collecting from you folks for the damages that you FRACKING CAUSED!!

‘An important part of the context for our negotiations’

The Fuzzy math surrounding issue 2 is crazy. The Vote Yes supporters Claim that Public Employees earn 43% more (wages and benefits) than they would in the private sector.

They also claim that actual wages are about the same or 2.5% less for the private sector. The vote No supporters claim that Public Employees earn 3.3% less than comparable private sector jobs.

I had to check with Career Board's Salary Calculator to find the truth. My Job earns 17.4% less than the Local Average to 18.5% less than the National Average of a private sector job.

Whats more the Vote Yes people use Vacation Days, fringe benefits, and a layoff factor to get their 43%.

1.) Wages according to Career Builder are less for public employees.

2.) Only Full Time 52 week School employees receive any Vacation time in the district I work for. 70% do not receive Vacation and/or fringe benefits.

3.) The Layoff factor of up to 9.3% does not add one cent to pay or benefits. It is like a happiness factor, not real money.

4.) According to the Vote Yes site, Public Employees earn 31.2% more? Which is it Vote Yes fools, 43% or 31.2%? Sounds like you cannot get your math straight.

You must be an uneducated bunch of Republican Farmers, that did not get past the 8th grade.

Vote NO on issue 2 and tell the Vote Yes people to go back to school, so they can DO THE MATH!!

2 sides of Issue 2

Issue 2 proponents are blaming the wrong people for Ohio's and local governments financial problems.

Proof:

1.) Gov. Kasich while turning Pubic Employees into Villains, got jobs for his buddies. About 100 of his "Friends" got cushy state jobs paying over $100 K a year plus other perks for those jerks. Math equals over $10 Million a year not including the perks! Meanwhile, those darn public employees had their pay frozen for up to 5 years.

2.) Cuyahoga county Elected officials and other Officers, Judges, and contractors have been and are still being convinced of theft in office, bribery, racketeering, kickbacks, and other illegal activities. This also includes 2 former members of suburban school boards. Meanwhile, through Labor/Management negotiations our Local saved 3 jobs and taxpayers over $350,000.00 in the process. Our school system was paying a large contractor over a half million dollars a year to change filters. Now three employees do the same thing, the schools purchase the filters and they install them. The schools save even more since the 3 employees perform other work when Not replacing filters. This Labor/Management process would go away with issue 2 (S.B. 5) approval.

State denies funds to clean up Boardman nursery nuisance

If this Lutz family is the former owners of the abandoned Greenhouses, and is playing a shell game and making officials think the property is now owned by a California company when it is not, then I say do the following:

1.) Have @youcantsilencetruth prove his above statements.

2.) If he statements are found to be true, then someone in the Boardman city hall (property tax) needs to be fired for incompetence, or at the county level which ever applies.

3.) After proving that the Lutz family still owns said nuisance property, the city and county, should go after them for all back taxes owed and fines for building code violations, and work out a deal that all back taxes and fines will be removed in exchange for the property deed.

This way the Park gets the land for free, and their portion (of funds under the original grant) can be used to demolish and clean up the site and pay back taxes.

If it is proved that a California company or bank owns the property, then the same should apply, land seizure in exchange for back taxes and fines.

Court: Campbell can’t fire employee

This guy is grasping at straws.

If you are placed in a Civil Service Position provisionally, you must pass the next scheduled test within two years of accepting that position.

If the City messed up and did Not administer the test within two years of Donald Jackson getting his provisional appointment, then the City has no grounds to fire him.

But, if Donald took the test and failed, then he should be fired. He knew the chances when he took the job.

It is that simple for provisional appointments.

Pass a test within two years of appointment, if given to keep your job.

Fail a test within two years to lose your job.

Or be grandfathered in (keep the job) if the City does not give the test and you are on the job two or more years.

That is the civil service rules in Ohio.

So since you took the test, and did not prepare, you lose your job. So, stop crying like a baby, and MAN UP!

Governor's Statement on Clemency Application of Sidney Cornwell (press release)

@ sotired you do not know what you are talking about.

Why don't you check facts, instead of spewing partisan politics.

Fact: Governor Stickland and the 128th General Assembly passed School Reform that included 67 UNFUNDED MANDATES including ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN (2011-2012 school year).

All of these UNFUNDED MANDATES were voted on by a mostly Democratic Ohio Legislature, and approved by Governor Ted Strickland (Democrat).

Fact: Governor Stickland and the 128th General Assembly passed the Removal of the Academic Instructional Grant (A.I.G.) from Ohio's colleges. This grant helped people from poor families to pay for tuition.

Fact: Governor Stickland and the 128th General Assembly passed a bill to Unfreeze tuitions at Ohio Colleges. Once this happened tuition increased @ Akron, C.S.U. , Kent, Ohio State and others almost immediately.

So, please check your facts before you talk lies.

You are making comments about something that has not happened yet.

I have proof of what Strickland did. His Record looks like what you are accusing Kasich of before he is in office.

Just ask ANY School District about the UNFUNDED MANDATES that Stickland and the 128th General Assembly dumped on them.

ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN will cost Parma Schools over One Million Dollars to implement. Since Ohio will not pay one cent for this Mandate, it must be paid for by cutting something else, help to students, teachers, programs. And what kills me most is that NO additional curriculum will be covered on the all day format. Just more Nap and Play time.

So, all of Ohio's School Children suffer, so Kindergarten Parents can have Free ALL DAY Daycare?

Governor's Statement on Clemency Application of Sidney Cornwell (press release)

Stickland, I bet if this was your Grandchild, this piece of work would not even get a trail.

Your S.S. style state troopers would have gunned him down and covered it up saying their actions were justified.

That is what would have happened.

Strickland is too much of a sissy, to kill anyone.

He would have his State Highway Patrol do the dirty work.

Governor’s clemency to Cornwell criticized

Strickland, you are the Biggest Dirt-bag!

This Thug knew his target was not home, and decides to kill a child.

OK, time to let everyone in Ohio's Prison system know about this baby killer.

Time for some Prison Justice for Jessica!

Burn in Hell Cornwell and Strickland.
