Career and technical education (CTE) programs like this have proven to have a tremendous return on investment. It's not just about boosting student achievement or their career/earning prospects, it's also about training workers for the jobs open today and curbing emerging skills gaps in the American economy. It's great to see that this grant money will be used to further these efforts.
The Industry Workforce Needs Council is a newly created organization of businesses working together to spotlight skills gaps and advocate for CTE as a solution for them as well as a good investment for communities to make. For more information, or to join the effort, visit www.iwnc.org.
