Tyrell, who loves shopping at Walmart was just caught up in the moment. He no doubt simply forgot to go through the checkout line. Let's hope that compassion prevails and that he is released in time to be home for Christmas.

On Double Consciousness
by W. E. B. duBois
After the Egyptian and Indian, the Greek and Roman, the Teuton and Mongolian, the Negro is a sort of seventh son, born with a veil, and gifted with second-sight in this American world,--a world which yields him no true self-consciousness, but only lets him see himself through the revelation of the other world. It is a peculiar sensation, this double-consciousness, this sense of always looking at one's self through the eyes of others, of measuring one's soul by the tape of a world that looks on in amused contempt and pity. One ever feels his twoness,--an American, a Negro; two warring souls, two thoughts, two unreconciled strivings; two warring ideals in one dark body, whose dogged strength alone keeps it from being torn asunder.

Secret Service asked to assist in Mobile counterfeit check-cashing ring involving homeless
on November 17, 2012 at 11:46 PM, updated November 18, 2012 at 6:59 AMDarion Jerome Jordan, 21 of Mobile, Ala. MOBILE, Alabama -- In just two days, two banks in Mobile and three in Daphne have reported losing more than $20,000 combined from a counterfeit check-cashing ring involving homeless individuals. Police have arrested four men in connection with the scam, says Local 15 News.
The news source reports the police departments are seeking the help of the Secret Service to make more arrests in the multi-state operation.
Darion Jordan, 21, of Mobile, had driven a rental car from Georgia and rented a hotel in downtown Mobile to operate out of, said police.
The leaders of the operation created fake checks in the hotel room and then paid homeless people to cash them at local banks, investigators said.
On Thursday, police arrested Jordan, Phillip Dean, Albert James and Kenneth Glover, and each was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument.
Dean, James and Glover are believed to be homeless, due to Mobile County Sheriff's Office records. The three remain in jail, while Jordan was released on bail the day after his arrest.
