@Operator: Klink gets it; he is responding with sarcasm to Ypboy's comment "Unions were once very much needed and now they have out lived their usefulness. Today they are destroying our economy."
The reality is that our economy has been destroyed because We The People have allowed the overwhelming proportion of our nations' wealth to be concentrated into the hands of a global aristocracy that owes no allegiance to the USA. They have bled our economy with trade deficits from OPEC oil and imported manufactured products from Communist China, etc.
The bloody conflict sacrifices of the late-19th and early-20th Centuries will have to be relived again if we lose the Unions and the basic workers' rights that were won in those battles.
If Mt Calvary Church does not have the financial resources to fulfill their original vision for this land, they should consider a change of plans, possibly to sell it and to use the proceeds to further their congregation's other works in the community. There is so much that can be done with this 27-acre property, in a neighborhood that is revitalizing itself. Consider the benefits of transforming this site into a center for businesses and good jobs, where they are most needed in Youngstown.
This incident shows how the Youngstown Municipal Court facilities are inadequate for security. Lease space in the Mahoning County Courthouse to the Youngstown Municipal Court. This will help the County to pay for its existing Sheriff's Deputy security team, without duplicating the taxpayers' cost of paying for two Courthouses and two security teams. To make this space available in the Mahoning County Courthouse, move the County Recorder, Auditor, and Treasurer into the existing vacant space at the Oakhill Renaissance Center. With these cost savings, the City of Youngstown may be able to pay its share of the County Jail expenses, so we can keep more dangerous thugs off the streets!

Clingan Jackson was a Vindicator reporter and political writer who lived the History of Youngstown, and brought decades of insight to the press.
