Its easy to say that money should be spent when it is not your own. I personally don't blame Frangos, he spent how many multi-millions re-doing the old Realty Trust and the people of Youngstown appreciated that by flocking to his door... So now we have gorgeous apartments in the center of town that are half empty. As far as office space, its tough to find tenants alone right now, and impossible to compete with the city who is offering space at pennies on the $ for new tenants in their buildings.

Not to say that I agree or disagree with the decision, but I just can't seem to understand why everyone is giving Mayor Williams and Mr. Frangos so much grief over it. The Mayor and the entire City of Youngstown have, in my opinion done a great job promoting the city, especially the downtown, and have moved many people and new business into town recently.
Also, isn't Frangos one of the few, if not the only private individual who has invested multi-millions of dollars in Youngstown over the past few years? If a project isn't feasible there and the city can apply for grant money to get it demolished to remove the eyesore what is the huge problem, it seems to make sense to me... Its not like they agreed to pay him 4million dollars for it?
Anyway I am just saying if we care about Youngstown, which it sounds like we are all do form the comments I have read, we probably shouldn't alienate and degrade the Mayor, City Council, and the only investor in this towns recent history who just completed a major renovation of a vacant and abandon building right on the square over 80k? But this obviously is just my opinion and I could be wrong.
