Keeping faith amid fear

As a parishoner of St. Doms, I will say that this is truely a shame. So many beautiful families attend our parish, and it despicable that we now have to live in fear when we go to mass. Angelina, although I did not know her personally, sounds like many of the devoted Catholics that I see in mass on a regular basis and from what I've read, she sounds like a woman that lived her life in Christ, and to think that she died at the hands of a low-life punk while clinging to her prayer book and rosary makes my stomach turn. I truely hope Angelina rests in peace and finds the sanctity in Christ that she prayed for for so many years. My deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to her friends, family, and parish community.

Now, onto the Southside scum that did this to her. To those of you who say, "It's the southside, what do you expect?" My answer to this is that I was married in this church, I go to mass there, and I find it ridiculous that we as a community should accept this behavior just because we go to church on "the wrong side of town?" Umm...no. I refuse to accept this explanation. Bottom line, who the h*** does this guy think he is that just because he made the wrong choices in life and wasn't intelligent enough to go get himself a real job that he has the right to beg for money and then shoot some poor lady in the head? For those who have called this racial profiling because someone saw a young black man run from the parking lot, HELLO, what do you expect??? I am tired of all the excuses for Youngstown scum in this town. I don't care if you're white, black, red, or pink for God's sake. You do not have the right to be such a stupid punk and commit random acts of violence. You know, I really don't mind when all the boys in the hood shoot each other up over drugs, women, etc. but I have a real problem when they go after the innocent members of society. It's bad enough that as a tax payer that I have to pay for these lazy a**es to eat, not to mention they have better health coverage than us working folks, but if it were possible, I'd say let's just build up a wall around the inner city of Youngstown and let them all shoot each other, get it out of their systems, and then the rest of us will have less of these low-lives to pay for. And yes, I agree with those of you who commented above that you hope this guy gets lynched. It's too bad the mob's not around anymore because that' s when this town was at it's greatest - when we took care of our own people and solved our own problems.

I hope to see them find this bastard and bring him to justice, but unfortunately, that will not bring back Angelina.
