Dear timOthy, yes, join the so very many others who only attend on Christmas and Easter and then think they deserve priority treatment. God and worship are only important to you if convenient. How sad!
rioh330 - freeloading suburban crybabies? You better sit down and do your math and realize the number of suburbanites who work in the city of Youngstown and therefore pay one of the highest city income taxes in the state, if not the country. And then realize it is taxation without representation. And then on top of that, these suburbanites pay a surcharge for their water from the City of Youngstown. If the suburban communities are successful in creating their own water district, where do you think Youngstown Water will be then? And who will be the crybabies when that happens?
There is absolutely no comparison between the Afro Dog's clubhouse and the DeYor, lombardo. If you want to illustrate a point to get your "the sky is falling" message across, please use a reasonable one. Just another ax to grind.
@ FairandEqual, yes, because putting GM out of business will certainly help the interests of all GM retirees. Maybe you need to think that advice over.
One thing we can count on is a negative comment from "union forever". I am positive if the YSU trustees voted to tear down the structure and make it a parking lot, he or she would have found fault with that as well. In fact, has "Union Forever" ever posted a positive comment? It is exactly because of naysayers like "union forever" -- about everything - that the valley continues to be stuck in the muck. You are either part of the solution, or part of the problem, and you are the latter!
Mr. Swierz, you can't bring something back that never was. There was a Christmas Parade in the past, not a "Holiday Parade". Either bring back the Christmas Parade or forget about it. Who would be at the end of the parade? Mr. Holiday?? Give us all a break!
I attended a small private elementary school and was only separated from another grade in kindergarten and 7th grade. Although there were some drawbacks, the positive results far outweighed the negatives and somehow I managed to eventually earn a Master's degree. Imagine that! Mixing multi-age (multi-grade) children in classrooms isn't something from ancient times. There are schools that actually provide this scenario as an OPPORTUNITY to help students, along the same lines as schools who have a teacher change grade levels and follow a group of students as they progress in the system. The key is the school system finding the right mix of students to be assigned to those classrooms. Perhaps Mr. Bagnola should do some research on this topic, and quit carping about it from a union viewpoint. Or, maybe they should find a teacher who thinks outside the box, and who is willing to do what is needed to make it work!

Experts: Bishops covered up child abuse
Where is Bishop Tobin's outrage about this? Maybe he is composing a litter to Bishops not to take communion? Unlikely.
