It's only a game! These are kids! An hour after the game they'll be hanging out together at Taco Bell and joking with each other. I went to Mooney and played for the first undefeated football team. I love the school. But Poland is a great school also. Great teachers, students and admin. I know lots of fine young people from both schools. There are good and bad apples everywhere. We have enough common enemies in this world. Let's not lump our neighbors into that group. CONSIDER THIS: How many communities have two schools from the same area in the third round of the playoff? I will be cheering for Mooney tonight. But if Poland wins, I'll be at the next game cheering for them. Good luck to both teams.
for goodness sakes, hire Buzz Pishkur back as CEO at a fraction of the cost of this Neumann guy and let him keep the Valley's interests represented in what happens to Forum.
Todd, remember the $50 bill I handed you for the fake "bribe" on the video interview? It was supposed to be used just as a prop, man. You said you'd give it back right after the interview, then you rushed out because you said the "spinach dishes were getting cold." I wouldn't have minded, but you insisted on 3 takes and a new $50 bill each time! Don't make me send Paulie Walnuts to collect, pal.
Bernie's generosity and concern for others is something u don't hear about. He may seem a little aloof because he is hounded for help constantly. But the truth is, he is always helping someone. THEN When he first started with the Browns and I represented a chain of health clubs that wanted him as spokesperson, he didn't care about what money was being offered/ He just wanted his girlfriend/soon-to-be-exwife to have a job as an aerobics instructor because that's what she wanted to do. NOW My former high school (not his) invites him to attend our annual fundraising bocce event as a celebrity to help attract crowds. He takes time to show up every year. We would pay him to come because he draws a crowd but not only wont he accept pay, he always leaves a generous check to boot. STILL A STAR He is too generous and maybe has screwed a few things up as he faced middle life as a non-star athlete. But in my book, he's still a star - his heart is in the right place and everyone from this area should be proud of him. I wish him well. GFF
Great video but did anyone notice the young cook handling EVERY pancake with his bare hands? I don't mean to "slam" this promotion - it was a good idea - but geez, wear gloves kid (at least when you're on camera). LOL
HAPPY AND SAD HAPPY - that old-fashion giveaway promotions still work. Great marketing by Denny's. SAD - so many people are so broke they lined up for a $6 breakfast — in the suburbs! HAPPY - This might inspire other business owners to try something aggressive also. SAD - I didn't get my Slam!! George Farris, Farris Marketing
I liked Palin when I saw her speech at the Republican convention, but I also thought she was a bit thin on details during the debate. Still, I'll take a person's PRINCIPLES, judgement and actions over PERSONALITY and STYLE. Really, Joe Biden is a nice guy and very professional but he is still part of that group that bends with the popular wind. He helped pass the 1999 legislation that encouraged the bad loans that helped put America into this financial tailspin. Of course he doesn't mention that. He's just a little too much of a windbag and too old style backslapping politician. I don't mean to disrespect his years of service but that's the impression I get from him. BUT TODAY we are facing some very tough times and we it seems we need a tough, independent-thinking person — like Palin. She will surround herself with experienced people. But she will make her own decisions. I believe that the key characteristics a great leader are a good work ethic, good judgement, courage and enthusiasm. Sarah Palin appears to embody most of these characteristics. Yes, I was a little surprised by Palin's "shout out" to third graders. And I wish she would have responded to Biden's "We will end this war!" With "You will LOSE this war." But Palin doesn't pretend to be a great debater. She is refreshingly direct, unflappable and seems to stick to her principles, not a script. When I look back in history, it seems to me that America's BEST leaders had those same traits. God Bless America.##
Torn over team
