And while they are at it they need to determine why the university accreditation standards didn't seem to apply to the athletic department.
Did someone in Penn State senior administration just not bother to give the athletic department a copy of the accreditation standards? Or perhaps they forgot on purpose!
All public universities are accredited by external accrediting organizations and we can be certain that preventing assault anywhere on campus is right up there on the priority list with fire prevention.
There are very specific rules and regulations in place and practiced after the staff in departments are trained.
We should ask to see the training sign-in sheet just to see if anyone from athletics attended or if anyone from the athletic department was invited to attend at all.
One very simple rule is not to allow children on campus at all except on game day and other prior approved times as per the accreditation standards.

And we learn again why the United Way was created in the first place all those many years ago.
The administrative oversight provided by the United Way would have prevented these series of problems from Day #1.

If the case is a sham, why not let the public see and decide?
There is always wisdom in allowing sleeping dogs lie - especially if they are Rottweilers.
Few people have asked the question of how funds were obtained to build and then expand Southside Hospital all those years ago.
And more importantly what promises were made by whom in order to obtain the federal funds?
Did those promises follow the sale of the property?
Who would want to know that?

Apparently it wasn't good enough and I agree with Kelly.
