I think they are trying to say the the suspect was at the police department, but not put behind bars. Then they took him back out onto the streets. Anyway, please tell me that these idiots broke some rule and that this isn't standard operating procedure. Even my car has child locks on the doors that prevents the doors from being opened from inside! So what action will Andy take to correct Barney and Gomer?
Ok, I can't even be bothered to read all these responses, but I've been ticket by traffic cameras before and You were able to clearly identify my face as the driver. Bottom line is that even if you can't make a positive identification and prosecute, the cameras will be a deterrent. It probably will bring in revenue and might save a life. If you're doing the right thing and obeying the law, you have nothing to worry about. Oh, by the way, I was a cop in the area & the camera doesn't bother me. What's the Chief afraid of?
I've live in areas of the country that utilize traffic cameras as well as countries overseas. I can't imagine any negative impact fro having the cameras. Those that argue that cameras will discourage people from coming into town, therefore hurting business are just grasping at excuses. People aren't going to stop coming into town because of a camera, but it might cause people to slow down a little, saving lives. The worst economy since the depression doesn't keep most people out of the bars, why would you think a camera will.
Folks, it's not about boxing. It's about the area's communities taking advantage of every opportunity they can to promote themselves. I left the area over 20 years ago and made the military a career, and everytime I return home I see very little change. Do I know what the answer is, no, but what I do know is that those that are hired/elected to find the answers don't seem to be working very hard at finding them. Maybe it's because they have jobs!
