Might as well make it 3 readers from Florida! You guys probably are a bit nuts, but that's what makes it so fun. I admire your enthusiasm and guts--happy new year!!
Agree with Nonsocialist and others. No question there is a pattern and government control is the objective! Should we be concerned about what we do to the environment? Of course. Do we need alternative sources of energy? Again, of course, and why the constant delays in the undertaking of these programs? Ever hear of self-serving , selfish elected officials....
While it is understandable having wage freezes in this economy, you might tell that to your Congress persons who are constantly GIVING THEMSELVES raises...and WE THE PEOPLE are paying for it! Something wrong with this system!!
Best of luck Mr Wolford! There are thousands of fans and alumni both in Youngstown and scattered accross the country who still follow the program and are very anxious to see the Guins get back to the once prominent position they held on a national stage. With hard work and dedication you can have YSU back in the playoffs and keep them there, ala Tressel. We're anxious to see your success!
Kinda reminds me of the Browns. We keep accepting mediocrity because we love the team, but no one is ever held accountable--except the sacrificial lambs that is. Change is long overdue. Tressel is a tough act to follow, but until the staff starts recruiting the way he did and until they find a coach at least close to him (in spite of the predictable offense that we complained about), they will not be considered successful. Yes, it is about education first, but it is also about money--and that means winning! Take a look at the teams we used to compete against in the playoffs, i.e. Marshall and particularly Boise. We beat Boise for a national championship (1997 I think). Look at them now.Div 1 and nationally ranked AGAIN. What more do those in charge need to know? Maybe a blue field will do the trick? Change isn't always good-it would be this time!
Don't see how anyone could think that the Guins are playing well--and haven't for several years. They only seem to win against the 'weak sisters' and lose to the strong teams and good programs. It's sad the Northern Iowa has had our number for a LONG time. I miss the years we were at least IN the playoffs and the 6 national championship games we attended with coach Tress. It is obvious that Heacock is not in his league and, sadly, we will get worse because what quality athlete can be recruited to a school that's lucky to even have a winning record and no playoffs? And who is going to notice the occasional star that appears on this team? It's overdue for a change..it's what, 9 years now?!
Good comments and true. Parents beware. One of the wealthiest industries in the world is the pharmaceutical industry...create a scare (virus), then offer to solve it and sometimes make it mandatory. What a deal!
