ytownnoopt- I 2 grew up on the Southside and my Mom still lives there. Most homes are indeed in major disrepair and yes partly due to owners moving in renters and never bothering with them again, the lawns are atrocious. Grass a foot high,trash all over.This has ALOT to do with why some people do not want to stay there.It drives property value to zip. This however is NOT the responsibility of owners to run over,cut the grass and pick up the trash. Ill admit my brother and I HAVE begged my mother to move elsewhere because along with those "lovely families" lurks a criminal element as well. The school system also has huge problems. I guess my point is that these are the reasons y many people ( including myself) dont want to live there anymore. Not because we dont want to live where black people live, we would feel the same same no matter what the race ratio.
Today is my 1st time reading these comments about the news articles and I had to sign-up. Jeez what a treat. Forget about racism against blacks, with out even absorbing what the article was talking about (undecided and independents)the vicious hatred spewing began- not against blacks, against democrats.
