animal abuse? get a life-it wasnt a little puppy coming after the officer and he had every right to defend himself and the other officers

It was not a 42lb puppy-don't always believe what you are told in the press-the dog was large and it was going to attack the officers-i'm glad they did what they did

maybe if the owners of the house didnt have a drug house and a criminal as a son who was shooting up the south side they wouldnt need an aggressive dog-the owners are upset about their dog?! maybe they need to worry a little more about their raising good kids-oops too late-guess their mad about losing their crack and drug scales-as for you barbie- u do not have the nerve to or intelligence to do what these men and women do everyday

City officials: It’s inevitable city workers will lose jobs

The reason that Youngstown has a higher ratio (with police:citizen) is because it has one of the largest crime rates of the nation-and they're still short staffed! Summers just around the corner and 26 fewer officers means longer response times and an increase in crime

City officials: It’s inevitable city workers will lose jobs

It’s amazing that Jay Williams would even think of laying off 26 police officers when he is well aware of the stimulus grant money that the Youngstown POLICE department is receiving. The purpose of that money is to hire Police not lay them off because of his own personal hatred of Police, only to bring them back when the money is received by the city. The tax paying citizens need to be made aware that Jay has hired all his friends and created positions for them( Jason Whitehead) that are not necessary. Are any of his friends getting laid off? In a city who has one of the WORST crime rates in the country why is this mayor so set on laying off the people who are needed the most? It’s a shame to have a mayor who believes the Police make too much money. I am willing to bet he won’t tell that to the families of all the Youngstown Officers who were killed trying to protect the citizens Jay doesn’t care about. It’s a shame to see the Pittsburg and Oakland Officers murdered and Jay publicly stating Police make too much money.
