Great List! Acting on #9 - Volunteer and Help Others - can also help achieve #s 4, 5, 7 & 10!

#4 - Volunteering together is a great way to strengthen families by creating common goals, a sense of achievement, and improved communication. VolunteerSpot has a free eBook filled with ideas to help families get started volunteering: www.VolunteerSpot.com/ebooks

# 5 - Research shows helping others is a good way to find a mate - check it out: http://www.usnews.com/articles/science/c...

#7 & #8 - Volunteering provides rich opportunities to learn new skills, take leadership roles, and polish new behaviors in a safe environment (away from your boss and coworkers). For those in transition, volunteering fills resume gaps, provides networking opportunities and may lead to new interests and even a job.

#10 - As you get organized in your personal and work life, don't settle for less in your volunteer life. Tools like VolunteerSpot.com make it easy to initiate and coordiante your volunteer activities. Perfect for simplifying volunteer signups at school, Scouts, congregations, and with your neighbors and coworkers.

And maybe, just maybe, Volunteering can also help #s 1, 2 and 6. Spending a few hours a week volunteering will help keep you occupied and away from cigarettes, snacks and the mall!

Hopefully I've helped build a case for # 9 - PLEASE VOLUNTEER IN 2009 - it's good for you, and your help is critically needed in our community!!

Here's a great article to help you act on # 9 and get started volunteering: http://blog.volunteerspot.com/volunteer_...
